Sam's jewellery is beautiful but what I love about her pieces is the meaningful story behind them. I personally don't always like overly 'girly' jewellery and I love that her pieces play with masculinity and femininity in a really clever and cheeky way. I have the 'Sheriff' earrings and they give me a confidence boost and remind me that it's ok to be confident when I look in the mirror at work even though I have been socialised to think otherwise! They're something really different but also meaningful and I love them. More...

5 star. Worked with Sam on an engagement ring design and choice. From some one who knew nothing about rings or diamonds Sam was a fount of knowledge and there was never any pressure. The quality was amazing and the aftercare was superb too. Everything delivered on time too. And the result was a Yes ;) More...

All along the journey of buying an engagement ring, I felt like I was in safe hands. Not only does Sam know what she is talking about, she pays you the attention and gives you the personalised touch I was hoping for. Delighted with the finished product! Many thanks again for all the help! More...

What inspired you to start your own business?
Standing at almost 6 ft, no one was ever going to describe me as a P.Y.T. Growing up and trying to be ‘one of the girls’ I never felt I was quite able to conform to my role. Jewellery became the medium which gave me the power and self-confidence I needed. From an early age, I was ‘stringing up’ whatever beads I could find.
Passion met ambition when I took a place in the National College of Art & Design in Dublin, followed by specialist training in Florence, Cork and Amsterdam, before taking a Masters in Luxury Product Design in Milan. The last move was to ‘the big city’ London, where I quickly downloaded Tinder and took up a job at a global luxury men’s brand. A few years later (Tinder deleted) and with a ‘now or never’ approach I let my dream out, and founded SAM HAM my own unisex fine jewellery brand.
