Wedding Photography
The lead up to the day and on our wedding day Andy was great and very professional. He accommodated any photos we wanted but we did have to chase him down to take them as he kept on disappearing.
After the wedding day August 2019 that’s when it all went wrong. He never returned calls, emails or texts. After many attempts we finally got a memory stick but were shocked to find another couples pictures on it as well as ours. Andy said just delete the ones we didn’t want!!
After further months of attempting to contact him we were left with no option but to contact the Photographers Guild and within a day Andy started replying with the added pressure. We finally received our album around June but to find out key pictures were missing like parents, first dance and cutting the cake. Andy had missed them out. We are now amazed that a year and a week after our wedding day we now have our second album from him with all pictures and extra. He also did 2 framed pictures but this did little to help the stress of our first year of marriage waiting for our album. When he dropped the album off he could not get away quick enough.
Great photographer but terrible at for filling his contract.
Our advice, find a different photographer.

We got married in 2017 and are still waiting for our wedding album. This is my second review, as initially we were really happy with the actual photo shoot but now nearly 3 years later we have still not received our wedding album. We are feeling very disappointed.

We used Andrew for our wedding photos on 18.11.18 and we have still not received our wedding albums. We have contacted him on several times via email and telephone but he has not responded now for months. We are really disappointed.

Would highly recommend Andy to anyone as he patient around all the children we had at the wedding and if you want a certain photo taken he will try his best to get that photo taken . We hired Rutland Photographic as our wedding photographer for our October wedding last year. Our experience working with Andrew Howe (Rutland Photographic) in the lead up to the wedding and on the day itself was fine, and he made us feel confident in his services as a photographer. However, after the wedding we have been shocked by his lack of professionalism and poor customer service in terms of receiving the products we were expecting and had paid for in full already. We have still not received our photo album, a memory stick with our photos on or a video-slideshow as stated in our contract even though it has been over 6 months since the wedding. We are now being ignored by Andrew despite repeated attempts by us to get in touch by phone, email, letters and social media. The last time we heard from him was in February. We, as well as our friends and family, are extremely disappointed and upset, and we would we would not recommend choosing Rutland Photographic as your wedding photographer. More...

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
I think it takes more than just being a technically good photographer to be a good wedding photographer. You need to love wedding days and become immersed in the atmosphere and romance of the day.
I love to get to know the bride and groom and to understand their relationship, how they react to each other, their friends and families. I am then equipped to see those special moments coming and capture those special, treasured memories.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I would ask my clients what the most important element of their wedding day is. Is it the ceremony, the venue, the food, or their guests enjoyment? How important is having beautiful photographic memories, do they want fashionable, styled images of themselves, or is a record of the day as it unfolds, with friends and relatives enjoying themselves just as important.
Have they a particular style of wedding photography in mind or have they seen any particular wedding photographs that they like.
What do you love most about your job?
I have always been a people person and love photographing people, capturing their personalities in creative images. I find that there is little more rewarding than delighting clients with a beautiful and lasting record of their special day and see them share their favourite images with their friends and family over social media.
I feel that it is important that I click with my wedding clients rather than just clicking the camera shutter. Understanding a little of their relationship helps me anticipate and capture those special emotional moments during the celebrations. I am happy to say that I remain friends with many of my brides and grooms.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have loved photography since my schooldays and have developed my technical skills and appreciation of the art for over forty years. My main career, whilst teaching me many skills invaluable to my photography was not an artistic one and it is only since I retired from it that I was able to create Rutland Photographic and indulge in my passion as a professional.
My style is to create a reportage, documentary record of a wedding day with informal and sometimes candid photographs of the couple, family and friends. I do of course include traditional posed portraits of the bride and groom and groups of guests and where the opportunity arises, a few creative “art wedding” images.
