About

I aim to build a trusting, warm and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship with the hope that you will feel comfortable to talk about things that might be difficult to talk about with those close to you for whatever reason. Starting counselling can be daunting but also a real step towards whatever goal you may have when looking for a therapist.

Counselling

Ruth was very professional, approachable and very knowledgeable about my needs with the experience she has about cancer patients. She put me at ease straight away and I really feel that she will definitely be able to help me. More...

Q&As

I enjoy meeting and working with a variety of people and seeing the progress they make throughout our sessions is wonderful.

I like to be able to be in charge of my own diary and feel a sense of pride that I am my own boss. I also like working with my clients without the all the un-needed paperwork and statistics etc that can come alongside a clinical setting, I like to think of my clients as people, not numbers.

I am a qualified and BACP Registered Person-Centred Counsellor. I have extensive experience working in Bereavement as well as with depression, anxiety and those affected by cancer. I work with adults on a one-to-one basis offering both short and long term therapy.

Outside my private client work, I have worked with Cruse Bereavement Care and Macmillan, where I have done further training within the respective fields as well as undertaking CPD within these organisations to further my professional development. Working within these organisations has been a wonderful and rewarding experience, where I have worked with a diverse range of clients.

Yes, I only work remotely at the moment. I work on Zoom, Skype and other remote platforms.

I only work remotely so there is no risk to either myself or my clients.
