So this weekend, William and I had a Photography session with Rose Dedman Photography to mark our 10k followers on Instagram! Rose Dedman is a documentary family photographer - which means she takes natural images, of your real life, as you live it. She basically just comes to your house and spends time with you, as you carry on with your normal life, whether in your own home, or out at your favourite place to go as a family - and she captures beautiful images of your everyday moments that you would usually forget. We wanted to capture a few semi-posed images to mark our 10k Instagram followers, but after that during that natural part of the session, it was so relaxed and there were no awkward smiles or having to say “cheese!”. Rose managed to get some amazing natural images of us! I would never have dreamed that it would be so easy, as usually having professional family photography done would mean having to stand and smile or having to go to a studio - somewhere where William would feel really uncomfortable as it is so unfamiliar.. but this was the easiest experience ever! For families that have kids with additional needs I would say that this the easiest way to have your photographs taken. And just look at the results! More...

We had a mini-session with Rose in Poppy fields. She was very good engaging our 6-year-old and got some incredible photos of him exploring. We had a lovely photo of us as a couple, which is something we haven't had in a long time. We’re not used to doing photo shoots and me and my husband aren’t keen on posing - even our wedding day we didn’t want posed shots. So, Rose reassured us and made us feel so comfortable and at ease just like friends taking a walk together, she is so talented and captured our young family in such a natural way. Rose came to our house for a documentary session. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough. She was so professional but friendly and engaging with the children so everything felt so natural. Having the documentary style photographs were so special as they really capture your family life and home which will mean so much more to us when looking through them in years to come.
