Electrical installation condition reports (EICR)
These reports are required when renting out a property and are also used when buying / selling your home. They can also be used if you have concerns about the safety of your installation.
It is advised you have one done every 10 years in your home and landlords should get them done at least every 5 years on each property.
They are quite involved and give a complete over view of the properties electrical system.
They usually take a few hours to do properly and involve disconnecting the lamps (light bulbs) and appliances to allow for accurate testing.
Full and Partial Rewires
If you find you need a full or partial rewire. I would be happy to come and discuss your needs and what you would like from your new electrical system. After planning out where you would like your outlets and lights. I will be able to issue you with a fully itemised quote.
I am able to certify all work and notify the local authority where required.
Ideally in a perfect world rewires are much easier in an empty house. I understand that this is not always possible and am happy to work round you. I will always make sure you have some power and heating at the and of the day and property is electrically safe.
Consumer unit (fuse bord) change
Often a consumer unit change and few minor changes is all you need to bring a house up to current standards and is obviously much cheaper than having a rewire done.
An EICR is usually required before to ensure that all your circuits will work afterwards and the installation is safe. Modern RCDs (the devices that protect you from electric shock) are much better at picking up hidden faults than fuses and may not work if there is a hidden fault.
Electrical maintenance, fault finding etc
This includes anything from changing light fittings, fixing broken sockets, replacing face plates for decretive ones and finding and fixing faults.
New circuits and additions
I am fully qualified for domestic properties so can install new circuits or add additional lights and sockets to your current ones. All work is certified and notified to local authority when required.
