Q&As

Initially I always carry out a personal fitness assessment, and discuss your personal goals.

Once agreed, I will create a plan of action which we will update and vary as we progress towards those goals. I will also assess your diet and make suggestions to help you eat leaner and healthier if necessary.

I tend to work with body weight exercises, TRX suspension training, free weights and resistance machines and bands to build cardio fitness as well as firming/toning and muscle definition.

Let's talk about what you want to achieve and when we can start working together to do what you want to do.

We need to keep lean and flexible to survive. Losing weight, gaining muscle mass, achieving better cardio efficiency is crucial to our daily health.

And I can help you do that.

There's cast iron proof that regular fitness programmes slow the ageing process and increase flexibility, strength, balance and mobility.

I know how important it is to do the right exercises, the right way, avoid training pitfalls and possible injury, and discover how getting fitter and staying fit, can massively improve the quality of our lives.

I get mad when I hear people being written off because of their age. Or their weight. Or the way they look.

We can't avoid dying, but we can enjoy living whilst we're alive? And to do that, we need to be able to move, be independent and be flexible as we age.

I know how important it is to do the right exercises, the right way, avoid training pitfalls and possible injury, and discover how getting fitter and staying fit, can massively improve the quality of our lives. And passing that knowledge on to my clients is what rings my bell each day.

When I was younger I was a smoker, loved junk food, seriously burnt the candle at both ends and never thought about being fit, let alone staying fit. Then I gave up smoking & started going to the gym. I loved it and wanted to know more about how the body works and the science of keeping it fit.

Now, a good few years later, I've never felt better, healthier or stronger. Today I specialise in providing functional fitness training for individuals and in classes.

Clients tell me they often feel intimidated by either a macho gym culture or a pushy, young PT who isn't really helping, or worse, not really motivating their clients to achieve their goals. Or both.
I've been there and can totally relate to that mindset. My complete focus is my client and helping them get the results they want. I think more carrot and less stick is the most productive method of helping and motivating my clients.
