The massage itself was great, painful in places as expected but he talked me through what muscle areas he was working on throughout which was super interesting and I left feeling like a new human!! Worst deep tissue massage I’ve ever had. I can’t even call it a massage. Manil just pressed different points around my back with a lot of pressure, so much I had to keep telling him that I was in pain and asking for him to adjust the pressure. He barely did and continue to press, keeping me most of the hour in a lot of pain. I thought several times to just ask him to stop, but I had hope the massage would improve, considering how much I paid… It never did… It was torture… I ended up in a lot of pain around my neck and back, with still a lot of knots around my shoulder and lower back. I even had to get another massage today to fix what he did. I’ve had more than 10 dtm in the last year and this was by far the worst experience in my life. The room was cold and the therapist didn’t even put a towel on my back or anything. The music was loud and not relaxing, so you can imagine, one of the songs was “Blinding lights” from The Weekend. I’m not even sure he closed the door of the therapy room because I could hear a lot of noise. I don’t understand how this place is rated so high… I was extremely disappointed and sad I wasted so much money, specially because I had to pay for another massage to fix what Manil messed up on my back. I couldn’t even turn my neck around because of the pain… And it was not the usual pain you can get after a deep tissue massage that fixes knots and relaxes the muscle, it was proper pain, besides of me having some bruises on some of the points he pressed with excessive force… So so so bad… Please avoid this place or this therapist More...

Please be carefull and ask to see certifications. I took his word. I hope this review will prevent future injuries. Unfortunate for me I will be living with this. Deep Tissue Massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles. It is used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff back muscles, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. If you are experiencing joints' mobility reduction such as a reduce in neck's range of movement, hip tightness, or if you are not able to touch the floor anymore when bending down, then we suggest our sports massage service where we use some additional techniques such as passive stretching, and PNF in order to improve both soft tissue tightness and joints stiffness.

In deep tissue massage some of the strokes are the same as those used in classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles).

How Does It Work? Techniques: With chronic muscle tension or injury, there may be adhesions (bands of painful, rigid tissue) in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Adhesions can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited movement, and inflammation.

Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist uses massage oil and often uses direct deep pressure. Muscles must be relaxed in order for the therapist to reach the deeper musculature.

Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage: Deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain, injury rehabilitation, and the following conditions:

Chronic pain
Lower back pain
Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury)
Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome
Postural problems
Muscle tension in the hamstrings, glutes, IT band, legs, quadriceps, rhomboids, upper back
Osteoarthritis pain
Sciatica
Piriformis syndrome
Tennis elbow
Fibromyalgia
Muscle tension or spasm
After a workout or bodybuilding

Sport massage is a systematic manipulation of the soft tissues of the body that focuses on muscles relevant to a particular physical activity or sport. Many different movements and techniques are used in sports massage. Examples of these techniques include; Swedish style massage, effleurage (stroking), petrissage (kneading), compression, friction, tapotement (rhythmic striking), vibration, gliding, stretching, percussion and trigger points and sports massage service where we use some additional techniques such as passive stretching, and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF). These movements and techniques are used to try to help the athlete's body achieve maximum performance and physical conditioning with a decreased chance of injury or pain and a quicker recovery, but it doesn't mean others can not benefit from sports massage.

Sports massage can benefit any individual suffering from a musculoskeletal (MSK) injury, muscle tightness and reduced range of movement in the joints.

Massage therapists may use fingertips, knuckles, hands, elbows, and forearms during the massage. The pressure is generally stronger than a regular massage. You may be asked to breathe deeply as the massage therapist works on certain tense areas.

What are the Benefits of Sports Massage? Many benefits from sports massage have been reported based on experience and observation. Some of the benefits are to the mind (psychological) and some are to the body (physiological). Possible side effects of sports massage are tenderness or stiffness for 1 to 2 days after the sports massage. A skin reaction due to the massage oils is also possible. But for the most part, sports massage is safe. Some of the reported benefits include:

• Increased blood flow

• Increased joint range of motion (ROM)

• Increased flexibility

• Elimination of exercise waste products (lactic acid)

• Increased sense of well-being

• Decreased muscle tension

• Decreased neurological excitability (nerves more relaxed)

• Decreased chance of injury

• Decreased recovery time between workouts

• Decreased muscle spasms

Every serious athlete understands the importance of a regular self-care. Sports massage promotes muscle growth and encourages a fast recovery ensuring you are fit and ready to perform again as soon as possible.

First, during an initial consultation, your therapist does a postural analysis and asks about any muscles that require special attention.
Your treatment may include the entire body or one specific area or muscle group.
Then your therapist asks you to undress to your comfort level and leaves the room.
Once you are ready, your therapist begins by warming your muscles with light techniques.
Then the therapist uses a combination of long gliding strokes, kneading, trigger point release, stretches and pulls to perform the massage.
After the massage, your therapist discusses a self-care plan or recommends a follow-up treatment, if necessary.
If you want to compete at the top of your game, sports massage is an essential part of your self-care and routine maintenance.

Forget about the stresses of the day with a soothing Swedish massage designed to help you unwind.

Swedish Massage is a very common type of massage therapy. Massage therapists use long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil. Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing. If you've never had massage before, this is a good one to try first.

Perfect for: Anyone wanting a moment of tranquillity for themselves, their loved ones, friends or family.

In a typical 1-hour session, your therapist will perform a full back Swedish massage working on legs, gluts, back, shoulders, and neck.
If you are interested in a full body massage, it is suggested to book in for a longer session such as 90 minutes pure bliss.

A full body massage is an all-over body massage, covering you from head to toe. It is the most common type of massage given in spas and salons around the world. It is often very relaxing and may include different styles or types of massage. The types of massage techniques used will vary, but therapists usually incorporate different styles of relaxation, deep tissue, aromatherapy or any of the other blissful massage therapy techniques.

Benefit:

Ability to totally relax - with a full-body massage you are able to really relax, sometime even drift off to sleep.
Release muscle tension - because muscles get tight for different reasons and can often be a result of a trigger point, or referred pain point, full-body helps release restrictions in the muscle that hurts, but also the surrounding muscles, which may be where pain originated in the first place.
Allows you to experience different therapies - many massage practitioners incorporate different types of massage into a session, allowing you to experience relaxation.
Release of stress and tension - which has been shown to cause disease and illness.
Increases circulation of blood, which is transported to organs, allowing repair of damaged tissue and cells Aids in some of the most common disorders of our time - like depression, diabetes, sleep disorders, high blood pressure, infertility and lower back pain
