Q&As

For the online interior design service, below is a step by step of how the design process is run. It all starts off with the:

* Welcome Pack (This is a document which lists all the design elements on offer with a maximum of 5 that can be chosen per package)
* Terms & Conditions (To be read, signed and the original returned via post)
* Client Questionnaire (This is a document which consists of 17 questions to be completed which helps me to understand you and your project in more detail)
* Quote (A quote is provided based on your package which is a fixed price)
* Brief Agreement (A summary of the design elements, what you hope to achieve in your project outcome & a summary breakdown of the design process is sent & agreed)
* Invoice (50% of the package price is paid upfront with the final 50% due at 80% project completion stage)

The Sketch Design phase the commences which is where the drawings, designs, floorplans, layouts, any samples / swatches are sourced and the client document is put together. The client is responsible for undertaking the measured survey with a mutual agreement in writing that the measurements provided may not be exact. After submission and review of the initial design document; 3 x small amendments (within reason) are allowable. Then final design document is then produced with no further amendments. Then a checklist to confirm all points have been covered as per the brief agreement to be run through with the client.

The traditional interior design service is run the same way with the difference being the measured survey is undertaken by myself and the sketch design document will be presented in person (as opposed to emailed over).

I can cater for any style based on the design brief. As part of the design process a selection of images is required whether from magazines, online or social media platforms to help me to understand the style and look you are trying to achieve. Whether it is contemporary, traditional, modern or minimalist. Some interior design styles do not always stick to one particular style they may be a blend of a few, hence why images are a big help with defining the idea and image you have for your home.

What I love most about my job is transforming people's homes into a home they can be proud of and that is designed around them and their needs but most of all an interior design that they have always desired but never had the knowledge or the creativity to be able to create that space that suits them. Part of the design process and the design brief is understanding the client's needs and desired outcome for their project and making sure that it is achievable and allowing the client to share their ideas and get them involved and inspired and hearing the enjoyment when they can participate in the design process is something I do love about my job because ultimately it is the client that has to be happy as it is their home and probably one of their biggest investments they will ever make. So taking the time to understand them and their project is key to making the project a success.

I want to make a difference to people's lives in a creative way. My passion has always been in the creative world and ever since I can remember I was always drawing, or sketching or making something - those were the things that made me truly happy. I started my business as in the last few years I developed a passion for interiors. People's homes never conformed to one rule and that is what I loved is that you can be so imaginative and creative but behind that it was transforming the everyday working person's house or apartment into a home at an affordable cost. Traditionally interior designers were seen for the wealthy or the super rich but offering my interior design service at an affordable price allows me to work with residential homeowners who would never consider working with an interior designer before.

Offering an online interior design service and technological advances allows me to create interior design concepts digitally and efficiently at a much cheaper cost from the comfort of my home and present them in a way that encompasses all the tools, design elements and understanding for my clients to see what can be achieved on a relatively low budget. Like a traditional interior design service I still source samples and swatches as it is really important to see what these look like in natural light and artificial light but also the internet does not show a true likeness of images online.

Being able to start my own business to cater for homeowners that fall into this category was inspiration enough to create not just a home but a home they can be proud of for many years to come.
