We asked Rachel to take some family portraits to mark our daughter's 21st birthday. We wanted informal shots taken at home and we were lucky enough to get a beautiful, sunny afternoon so the photos were taken in the garden. We were very lucky to win a photo shoot with Rachel. We had admired her photos after receiving recommendations from friends and were delighted when we found out we had won her Facebook competition! We cannot recommend Rachel highly enough; from the moment she arrived at our house we felt comfortable and relaxed and her photos show it- our objective was to capture some photos of our 9 month old on her own and also with us. We couldn't be more delighted with the results- we were fortunate with the weather so some were taken outside amongst nature also.

Rachel was amazing to work with throughout the whole process! My family traveled to Scotland from the US and we wanted to capture our trip with a family photo shoot. Rachel was flexible and patient with us during the photo shoot and was able to bring out the best in my 4 year old and almost 2 year old. Rachel took family portraits for us earlirr this year and the results were fabulous. At the time we had a very tired 7 month old baby who was in no mood for photos. Rachel knew some tricks to engage her and we have some great shots. She also offered at the time to reshoot at a better time although we were happy once we saw the photos she captured. I highly recommend Rachel!Rachel has photographed all three of my children now,the first time we met was for a shoot with my two year old daughter at the time. My daughter Savannah instantly warmed to Rachel,Rachel has a very calm easy presence which I think reasures children and they tap into that right away!Since our first shoot with Rachel three years ago we have had another "two year" shoot with our second daughter plus a family shoot when our third was born!Rachel is a wonderful photographer,her photos are beautiful,the only difficult thing is narrowing them down because you will want them all!We especially love her block prints,everyone comments on how lovely they are! We were lucky enough to have Rachel take photographs at both our wedding and all day party last year. The events called for different tactics, one being small and well organised, the other being large and chaotic! The end result was fantastic for both, with sets of photographs that perfectly captured the mood of the day and of our guests. Achieving this at the second even was particularly impressive given the lack of direction that we provided, and the inclement weather that Northumberland delivered. Rachel did our family photos - and they're better than we ever imagined! We just love them. She was so easy to work with - gave direction when we needed it, but really just worked around us and captured the moments. She was able to put my 2.5 year old completely at ease, he loved her! My wife and I commissioned Rachel to take some family pictures with our 1 year old son (via one of her family portrait packages). She was wonderful to work with, very patient and understanding - and accommodating with a couple of last-minute date changes for our shoot due to work constraints and our son being ill - and the pictures are absolutely beautiful. We're Edinburgh locals, but incredibly we had never been to the location that Rachel suggested (Cammo Estate) before. It was a perfect spot and we're really pleased with the pictures. Rachel was also great about giving us lots of time to agonise over which photos we wanted to have in high-resolution, and then (unexpectedly) increased the number that we could have, without any additional cost. Rachel was the photographer we chose for our wedding - and what a fantastic choice it turned out to be!! This woman must have wings on her feet, because when we got our photos, it seemed she had covered every detail of every special moment! Her presence was so discrete, so she captured so many unique, impromptu images that just captured the essence and spirit of our wedding! Rachel is a wonderful photographer. She came out on a rainy Tuesday in April to photograph our little ceremony of 2 at Melville Castle. Rachel came to my home to get some photos of my 2 week old baby (you know, like those cute new born ones you see on cards), and some family shots.
I have no idea how she did it, my baby seemed to cry for the whole session, my older children were, let’s just say, excited, and I was feeling rather unwell and sleep deprived.
Despite the madness of the afternoon she managed to get a selection of truly beautiful photos. Even my cats got in on the act, it was a full family event.

We found Rachel at a small wedding fair at the Mal and booked her about 2 years before we actually got married. We were so glad we did. The whole experience from start to finish was great. Rachel was friendly and professional through the whole experience. We explained what we wanted and she delivered above and beyond our expectations.

On the day we had an amazing stroke of luck which meant that we got Edinburgh Castle to ourselves for the day (thank you Storm Hector) and Rachel made the most of it. We got photographs we could never have imagined getting.

Rachel was so flexible and reasonably priced. Worth every single penny and more for 2 people who hadn’t thought they needed an official photographer.

We recently used Rachel for a large family shoot for my dad’s 70th Birthday and are absolutely delighted with the pictures! Rachel is such a lovely and brilliant photographer. Our family photographs exceeded my expectations. The shots are so natural, yet so beautiful. Our 2.5 year old was captured exactly as we see him. He's a typical toddler - doesn't follow instructions or like being told what to do, but he totally warmed to Rachel. She was so relaxed and easy going that he loved working with her. My husband, who also hates being photographed was so relaxed and at ease. Rachel had a great balance between directing us and just capturing our family moments.
