Do I need insurance to rent a car or van?
No. At QDrive Performance you don't need to purchase insurance as we provide a damage waiver within the cost of your hire.

How old do I need to be to hire a car or van?
All drivers must be a minimum of 25 years old. Only drivers over 27 years old may hire full-size MPVs, premium vehicles/exotic cars and Luton vans.

What are the driver's licence requirements for car hire in the UK & Ireland?
All drivers must produce a full, valid driving licence. Non-EU licence holders are required to have an international driving permit if the licence is not in English. All renters must produce photographic ID - this can be a passport or driving licence. International must show passport, proof of return travel and residency information whilst in the UK.

Can I hire a car with a debit card?
We accept all major debit cards except for Maestro, Electron, Solo and pre-paid cards. To hire our 4x4s and premium vehicles, we require a credit card. All cards MUST have the main driver's name on it.

For Debit card customers we will conduct an identity and address verification check.

Excess and deposit are two seperate things

A deposit is compulsory - At QDrive we take security deposit of between £500 to £5,000. This varies on the vehicle being hired. For example if you are hiring a vehicle from a Luxury Range then the Security deposit will be £5,000. All deposits are in the form of a Pre-Authorisation payment. This means the money never leaves your bank/card. It becomes unavailable for you to use during the duration of your hire.

All Deposits are Fully refundable if the vehicle is returned in the same condition

Excess - This is a pre-agreed amount which varies by vehicle. This will be on your contact under Excess. This is the amount you are liable to pay in the event where the vehicle has been involved in an accident and the insurers consider it as a Total Loss. This amount can be anywhere from £5,000 to £80,000. For example if you are hiring a Mercedes G63 the excess may be £80,000 however if you are hiring a VW Golf this might be £5,000.

Note: In the event of a fault accident where the vehicle is considered repairable, you will be billed only for damages and off road charges or excess whichever is lower.

In the event of a Non-Fault accident all damage charges will be billed to Third Party. However, in the event where this may be unsuccessful, you will be liable for damage charges.
