A tale for those who doubt the value of telemedicine - "Heart2Heart" praise!

I am writing to thank you on behalf of my fathe r in law and indeed my whole family. We were fortunate enough to engage your services and it was nothing short of life saving that, just over a week after his examination and despite being 300 miles away, you were able to pick up what his hospital doctors and our National Health GP had not and with your rather cleaver monitoring system alerted all to a change in circumstances. The dehydration you picked up and the fact you spoke to his GP meant it was simple to have him taken to our local hospital to be put on a drip in no time without all the usual fuss saving him a huge amount of distress and probably prolonging his life.

Once again thank you for providing a fantastic service.

Daughter praises service mum received through my Doc@Home management

My mother's recent use of Doc at Home telemedicine service, provided by Dr Forbat, enabled her to stay within the comfort and convenience of her own home while her medication regimen was adjusted to provide symptom relief. Doc at Home gave her twice daily contact with her Consultant with feedback to and help from him, in real time.

Complex problems were addressed immediately and saved my mother either an inpatient stay or multiple visits to hospital and GP which would have taken much longer to resolve her health problems.

In summary, the benefits were speed of resolution, expert input in real time with the added convenience of the service being delivered in her own home.

Thank you for your kindness and attention to my mum who is feeling much better.

We contacted Dr Lance Forbat to help with our ailing Father in an emergency situation.

His caring, holistic and professional approach was extremely welcome to us. At a time when we were very anxious, desperate family and not feeling that we were getting the support we needed from the NHS. By using Lances’ expertise, Doc@Home and the daily contact provided us with the confidence which was truly appreciated. His style is always remembering the ‘patient and family’ not just the 'health 'issues which meant we were able to monitor and stabilise him. Lance taught us to adjust and fine tune the medication which gave us the ability to continue to manage my father at home.

It is very reassuring that we know if there are any issues Lance is there to support us.

We know that this has prevented my Father being readmitted to hospital on a number of occasions.

Thank you so much for this remarkable service.

"My story in brief " - Mum has valve surgery and cardioversion at 40yrs.

I'm a wife and a mother of two lively young children. Since turning 40 I'd been finding myself feeling increasingly 'stressed', exhausted and suffering from frequent dizzy spells.
In Spring 2011, my GP detected a heart murmur. An echocardiogram revealed a leaking mitral valve assessed as 'high-end moderate'. Over the next 6 months, I felt my symptoms become rapidly worse. It was at this point that I decided to contact Dr. Forbat. He was able to see me a couple of days later.

From my first appointment, I had no doubt that I was 'in the right hands'. Dr. Forbat thoroughly assessed me, putting me through a number checks, blood tests, ECGs, an echo, fitting me with an event recorder for a week and, a little later, arranging an MRI. It was the MRI which provided conclusive evidence that I required surgery. I found it hard to believe what was happening so quickly to me. Dr. Forbat guided me through the next stages. He arranged for me to meet with a surgeon who specialised in mitral valve surgery. Then a date was set and, twelve months after first being diagnosed, I found myself in hospital having surgery. A repair to my mitral valve was intended but was not possible and so a replacement was done.

Over the next week, Dr. Forbat visited me several times in hospital and then sent me home with a 'Doc@Home' unit. This is a fantastic piece of kit which enables the patient to record their own blood pressure, ECG and various stats and send this information direct to Dr. Forbat on his iPhone. It reassures the patient that they continue to be monitored and it supports Dr. Forbat in detecting changes quickly.

Three weeks after surgery my heart went arrhythmic and a month or so later I had to undergo something called an 'adenosine challenge' and then cardioversion. This was to be done as a day case but nevertheless, after everything I had recently experienced, I wasn't keen to go back in to hospital and I was anxious about the process. Dr. Forbat talked me through it all in advance so that I knew exactly what to expect. The cardioversion proved a success and six months later I feel fully recovered and better than I've felt for several years.

Dr. Forbat still checks up on me from time to time. I have greatly appreciated his approachable manner. He has always been directly contactable by 'phone/text/email. It's never too early or too late in the day and he has always been timely and prompt in his responses.

"Holy" Telemedicine! - helping to preserve the parish.

Dr. Forbat had medical oversight and care of me for some weeks. During this time he monitored my heart, blood pressure and weight.

Using a computer [Doc@Home Hub], made available by him for the duration of his oversight, I was able to send him each morning and evening, the information he needed to understand my cardiac situation, my blood pressure and related weight.

From my personal blood pressure and pulse monitor, I sent him the daily readings. These included, as requested by the computer [Hub], my weight and responses to questions about my well being indicated by the monitor. Dr. Forbat phoned from time to time for any clarification he might have needed.

The outcome was that a) by monitoring my medication and b) attending to the various daily computer readings, he was able to reduce my weight and blood pressure. Furthermore, on having s heart pacemaker fitted as he prescribed, my pulse rate aquired a more acceptable beat. The hitherto irregular beat was normalised and little by little my personal energy levels began to rise. This rise in energy level has been slow, but very notable with the passing of the weeks since Dr. Forbat's treatment.

At the conclusion of Dr. Forbat's period of care I returned the computer [Hub] to him. As the blood pressure monitor is my personal property, it has remained here and I use it to take my blood pressure and pulse readings every day, for my own information.

Solving problems for patients and offering a high quality efficient service using technology enabling early diagnosis and remote management of patients.

Intertia of innervation and lack of funding with postcode lottery in the NHS

Testimonial: Dr. Forbat has been my Cardiologist for several years. He is the consummate professional yet makes one feel very much at ease and more importantly deals with one's health issues and reassures one which removes the pressure and stress one might be feeling. I have used the Hub system several times and I cannot express the relief and reassurance I feel knowing Dr. Forbat is monitoring my condition 24/7. Where else would you get this service? Whenever I have contacted him, for whatever reason, his response is rapid which once again reassures me. Mere words cannot express the importance of this service alone. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr. Lance Forbat as a Cardiologist. He leaves no stone unturned. I would use him in a heartbeat. Excuse the pun!
