Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
You don't always need a great accountant but a good bookkeeper can be worth their weight in gold. A great bookkeeper will get to know your business almost as well as you and will be able to keep you updated on the financial side of things.
What do you love most about your job?
Two main things I love about my job
- I geniunely enjoy helping people to understand their finances
- I love the variety of working with different business's, the way they operate and their often passionate owners
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started my business when my first child was young. I had been working for PWC before but couldn't face the idea of working 9-5 in central London again. Drawing on my strengths I decided to set up my own business so that I could work flexibly around my family. Although I had been doing some bookkeeping work before then, I became a member of the ICB (Institute of Certified Bookkeepers) and passed various qualifications through them. I also completed a local Start Your Own Business course and the rest they say is history

Bookkeepers can often be a better option than accountants as they are more approachable to deal with than an accountant.

Self Assessment Tax Returns
No matter how you keep your records I can help you to be compliant with HMRC and get your tax return done and dusted by the deadline date.
Bookkeeping
Have you a need for ongoing bookkeeping services then I can probably help you! Weekly, monthly or quarterly I can update your records to suit you.
I have used Xero and Sage extensively as well as good old fashioned excel.
However, if you just need a one off catch up then I would also love to hear from you
Payroll & CIS
Should you need payroll or CIS subcontractor services I can help with this, either on a monthly or weekly basis.
Payroll - I mainly run monthly payrolls using moneysoft but have used sage and also HMRC basic tools. If you needs some help and use a different system I am sure that I can find my way round!
CIS Subcontractors - ensuring that you are compliant with this one is a major deal. Once on board I can run your monthly return to HMRC but also in the meantime help with getting subcontractors verified or even registered for CIS with HMRC
MTD Vat returns
Making Tax Digital vat returns have been a major issue for those companies that fall within the remit.
I can offer bookkeeping services to get you up to your quarterly MTD vat return or even if you just need a little bit of help to see what how you are doing with your own record keeping
Partnership and Limited Company Accounts
At the moment I am not qualified to complete these in my own right.
However, I do work closely with an accountancy firm to ensure that should you wish to have a complete bookkeeping service up to and including Company Accounts
It is my aim to offer this service directly in the future
