About

I am a qualified teacher with 27 years of experience in primary and early years. I have experience as a Special Educational Needs and Disability Coordinator in both primary and nursery settings. As well as providing private tuition, I am currently tutoring in primary schools as part of the National Tutoring Programme.

I love my role as a tutor, it allows me to focus on the learning of the individual child.

I am passionate about education and supporting every child to reach their full potential. I believe to do this, they need strong foundations in English and maths, on which to build future learning.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, children have had their education disrupted. Many have lost confidence, and this has slowed their previous pace of learning. One to one tuition, focused on your child’s needs, can really help them to flourish again, often leading to accelerated progress.

Using an initial assessment, I find out about your child’s strengths and interests and identify any gaps in their learning. Then from this, I create a learning plan based on your child’s individual needs.

I work at a pace and style suited to your child, using fun, interactive games and activities to fill those gaps, building solid foundations to nurture future learning.

I am a patient, motivating teacher who works in a fun, friendly, and supportive way, providing a safe environment for your child to ask questions and revise content without the pressure sometimes present in the school classroom. I celebrate every small achievement along the path to success. This boosts your child’s confidence and self-esteem which encourages them to approach future learning with a positive “can do” attitude.
