Prima is a lovely restaurant with friendly staff and a varied menu. I have been coming here for 20+ years and it never fails to disappoint, even when it is busy, the standard of the food is amazing. I would highly recommend.

Been here a couple of times before and the food is always lovely! However today the service was appalling. I can’t complain about the food but really disappointed with the staff, waited so long for order to be taken and in the end waited that long for someone to take a dessert order ended up just getting the bill and leaving. Went tonight, we had studied the menu before arriving. We both knew what we wanted to tea and looked forward to it. When we arrived we were sat immediately, we ordered some drinks and pretty much ordered our food straight too. All going well and then we were told the pizza ovens broke the night before so we need to order something else. My wife being a bit fussy didn’t want anything else and made do with a bowl of chips! Naturally it ruined our evening to be honest! 1. They had our number so why not ring us to tell us they only have the pasta on etc and no pizza 2. Why not tell us soon as we arrived? 3. Where was our apology? I dont normally review but this i had to. Its not nice tucking into a lasagne and your wife is just wanting to leave. Arrived early and got seated straight away which was fabulous. Waitress took our drinks order and drinks arrived. She then came back to do our food order, and advised us after ordering that pizza oven wasn’t working and had actually broken the night before and they hadn’t been able to fix it. Being a fussy eater, I don’t like pasta and chicken so sat and watched my husband eating his tea whilst I tucked into some chips. The pizza was OK but glad it was happy hour. I asked for new York cheese cake and I was brought the tiniest piece of cheesecake I've ever seen that was covered in fruit. .. Not a new York cheesecake. I asked was this actually a new York cheesecake and was told it was. Complained to management who agreed it wasn't because they'd actually ran out. I was then asked if I still wanted it to which I obviously said no. It was not what I'd asked for and my portion was clearly halved but was still gonna cost me £6 if I'd said yes. I think if businesses need or want to overcharge they need to get it right and not half the portions and try sell it at full price. Have used this restaurant for many years but tonight was just so so poor. Ordered our starters and meals and within 5 mins our starters came. However, after an hour of waiting for our pizzas I decided enough was enough and left. If you can't handle being busy then don't book as many. It would have been ok if someone had actually bothered to ask if us if we wanted another drink or had just told us the main meal was delayed but no, absolutely nothing. I will NOT be back. More...

Waiter thought as he had worked on a cruise ship that he made my drink correctly I drink the same drink whatever bar I go into and his was terrible and try to blame other bar persons that they weren’t correct I left and went to another pub and was served with the exact measure and correct spirits and told him what an experience I had in the Prima over this drink and he laughed as I did about bar manager thinking he knew best as he worked on a cruise.
