My innate love for animals and the peace that I feel when around them.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Change in lifestyle and I would love to get out more and spend more time with animals.
Administering medication
Administering medication to pets according to the instructions provided by pet owners.
Communication with owners
Meeting with pet owners to gather pertinent pet care information and discuss pet sitting duties.
Providing regular updates to pet owners, which include communicating with them telephonically or via email as well as sending video clips and photos.
Promptly notifying pet owners of pet illnesses or injuries that may occur.
Feeding
Feed and provide water based upon client instructions, which may be very detailed and must be followed exactly as given
Providing pets with food and fresh water.
Hygiene
Clean up after, groom, exercise and provide care for animals including litter box and cage cleaning.
Respect clients’ homes and personal property when on-site offering pet sitting services, includes cleaning up any pet messes.
Exercising
Exercising pets as needed, which includes taking dogs out for regular walks and playing with cats to keep them stimulated.
Observe outdoor and indoor play to ensure safety of the pet.
Additional customer service if required
Provide additional customer service as requested by clients, which may include picking up mail, watering plants and opening and closing blinds or curtains.
Situational Awareness
Situational awareness helps me identify potential hazards and keep pets safe.
Consistency
Many pet owners rely on me to provide their dog or cat with a consistent schedule. This consistency can help them adjust to my presence and allow them to maintain their normal routine. For instance, I might visit the home at the same time every day to walk the dog. I might also make other visits to feed the animal, fill their water bowl, give it medication and play with it.
