I would give them 0 if that was allowed. I strongly advise you to avoid them like the plague. They failed to properly complete my purchase by failing to register my title with the deeds registry office because firstly they failed to monitor the application, they took months to chase down documents and they submitted incomplete documents. They cost me £800 in additional interest charges when I came to trying to remortgage because the deed wasn't registered and then they continued to blame the deeds registry office. I had to call the deeds registry office daily to establish that they failed to submit all pages of a multi-page document. They are not competent to do this work. More...

I strongly recommend everyone to avoid PCS legal!

Originally instructed them to act on my behalf on 17th April. Kept sending emails but had no responses at all over 4 weeks. I chased up via email on 11th May and received no response. I received a mortgage report on 25th May with no other updates. I requested an update on 26th May and once again received no response. I work as a doctor in a busy acute hospital and it is often difficult to make phone calls during work hours; therefore, it was very unprofessional of PCS legal to not send any replies to my email.

On chasing up on the phone when none of my emails were responded to, I was told that the team had not received any draft contract pack from the seller’s solicitors. I inquired with the seller’s agent who stated that the contract pack had been sent quite a while ago. They chased up directly with PCS legal and then the team was able to confirm that they did receive the contract pack in their email inbox but had not attached it in my file; and that they would start the conveyancing process now. This was shocking! – especially as quite a few weeks had passed since I had originally instructed PCS Legal.
No further updates were received. The estate agents chased up for me a couple of times and were told that Alex may be raising some inquiries but were not given any timeframe/details. I sent an email on 9th June and received no response. I chased up again on the telephone on 12th June to ask for an update on the conveyancing process. I was told that the inquiries were still with Alex and had not been raised yet as he was working on them. I asked about searches and they said that there were none on file as they had not been requested! I was told that I would have to go back to Your Home Move legal group and request searches from them, as PCS legal could not do this on my behalf. This was once again shocking – as I had inquired about this back in April and I was told no action was needed on my part! I requested the searches promptly. I chased up for an update later in the week and was promised a callback but received none.
I sent another email on 14th June. Alex finally got back to me then and said that they were awaiting updated title deeds from seller’s solicitors as the property was being sold by a beneficiary. I passed this message to the seller's solicitors. They advised that it is not practical to wait for the registered owners to be updated, as it is taking a very long time in the land registry. They said this could be bypassed through probate and is not a mandatory step. I have passed this information back to Alex and almost a week onwards, no further updates!

As you can see from the above account, over 2 months after asking PCS legal to act on my behalf for this property, there has been little meaningful progress; and frequent lack of communication; and a few shocking blunders from team Alex! This has put the entire chain in jeopardy and I am at risk of losing the purchase.

Please Please do not use this company!!! Unfortunately I can't give a 0 so I have to give them one star and that's one star too many ! !! Unfortunately we did not read the reviews before we used them. So many reviews warned against using them I wish we'd have seen this first..
We are currently purchasing a house and PSC have been been so bad it's made my partner very poorly. We are nearly six months in and it feels like we have just started. Sophia was assigned to a case but there is been terrible correspondence we send e.mail after e.mail she never replies we contacted one of her team who told us she doesn't read her emails because she has so many and gave us another email to contact them with and that one is just as bad no correspondence at all.. The Portal is never updated we have no idea what is going on and when we call them they you can never get through to the solicitor you get through to one of the team who have no idea of what's going on themselves. When they do send us emails they ask for stuff we already sent to them.
We have sent documents to them recorded delivery and signed for and they say that they never received them even though they signed for them .
The solicitors representing the people who are selling the house we are purchasing keep contacting us and asking why our solicitors are not responding to them the estate agents that we are buying the property from keep contacting us asking why our solicitors are taking so long and saying they don't respond to their emails these people should not be contacting us they should be dealing with our solicitors but because they can't get any correspondence they're coming to us for answers . This is unacceptable and should not be happening . Lucky I have kept all the emails and correspondence and complaints have been sent to us and these I will use to complain against PCS
They say they pride themselves in making the transaction of smooth as possible but it's been far from that and we seam nowhere near completing

This has been the worst decision of my life. They never ring you to update you, takes 72hours to respond to emails not acceptable. Dont care.
When it is so important to someone finding their dream home and selling theirs in a market like today, they are nothing like they say they are.
Every chance of losing the lot plus being disabled cannot just change things instantly.
They must have their canvass team who fill you will yes we can, when really no they cant as too many cases to handle and just not interested.

This shambles of a so called company cost my daughter her dream house and they do not care at all. The only response they give is that as my daughter was not their client (the buyer for her property was their client) they won't discuss it. They have cost my daughter money and caused her an enormous amount of stress. They lied , did not do work they were paid to do and couldn't care less about the upset they have caused. It is criminal that they continue to ruin people's lives and still carry on being allowed to trade. I will post on every site I can to warn people to avoid them . More...

Extremely disappointed with service! Very poor respond time if any.
Sale of the property fell through due to lack of action from PCS Legal, no progress on the case in 4 moths which led me to loosing money on searches. Also very arrogant solicitor when I finally managed to get through to query progress.
Absolutely no response when I submitted official complain.
DON'T TOUCH THIS COMPANY!!!

Bought a property on aug 2021. Everytime when I asked about my property ownership this was the reply from pcs LEGAL
'The land registry currently have a delay of around nine months and therefore it shouldn’t be too much long until your property is registered. '

When checked with Land registry this is what i found out.

Application 1:
Submitted to HM Land Registry 30/3/2022
Started processing and requisition (request for further information) issued 6/4/2022
Warning of cancellation issued 8/6/2022 (this is because we did not have a response/response in full to the requisition we issued)
Application cancelled due to no reply 20/7/2022

Application 2:
Submitted to HM Land Registry 15/9/2022
Started processing and requisition issued 26/9/2022
Reply from solicitor on the same day 26/9/2022
Additional letter sent to solicitor due to the original reply was not sufficient 28/9/2022
We are currently awaiting a response to the last communication.

MY SOLICITORS LIED TO ME ALL THIS TIME.

First solicitor handed case over to someone else, second solicitor left without completing a delayed completion, delayed completion still has not been done due to incompetence. Went to legal ombudsman and they refused to make an offer. Took 8 months nearly to sort out the management group deeds even though they lied and said it had been done. Emails are not responded to, phone calls are ignored and no one wants to help or solve the issues caused. Dreadful company, dreadful communication and dreadful complaint handlers. It would appear you have not represented the correct occurrences within your review. Regarding your comments of our firms complaints handling, I can evidence you raised your complaint on the 28/05/2022 and we provided a final response on the 17/06/2022, thus, a response was provided within the 8 week timescale allotted. Additionally, within that response we offered you £100.00 compensation, to which, it would appear you rejected. Moving onto the matter of the ombudsman, we are not authorised to disagree with the Legal Ombudsman final decision on compensation, without huge determent to our firm. Thus, we are confused by your statement mentioning that we refused to make an offer, when an offer was made within the final response. Moving onto your comments regarding communication issues, this we did uphold and made an offer of compensation for any inconvenience caused. I would like to mention that, one point of your complaint regarding communication issues was about the team not responding to an email sent on 20/12/21 that did not receive a response till the 04/01/22. It was explained to you that, our firm was closed for the Christmas holidays on the 23/12/21 and reopened on the 04/01/22. So, following an extremely stressful 11 months, pcslegal eventually completed on our sale. 1 have had a very very poor service and I believe they have breached their duty of care. I put in a formal complaint on 2nd July and I have simply had an automated response.
Maybe this is the only way to get a response!

The standard of communication is extremely poor, they provide no information, so you don't know what to expect or when. Never call back, unavailable when you call.
They delayed my case and caused me lots of stress.
I would not recommend them to anyone.

PCS Legal is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. They do not answer emails despite several reminders. If you phone them, expect to have to wait an hour or more! It takes forever for them to answer the phone, then if you do get through to their reception they cannot get an answer from the department you need to speak to. It's always "they're in a meeting". You can never get to speak to your conveyancer. If you leave a message with an assistant they promise that you will get a call back, but in the 5 months I had to deal with them it never happened. In exasperation, I asked to speak to a partner of the firm and was given the name of their complaints manager. When I called him, he was not available so I left a message for him to call me. Of course nobody called me. Several days later when I did finally get to speak to him he said that he never got my message. He did not accept my complaints and fobbed me off. It is now over 7 months since completion and I still have not received my title deeds document. I wrote to my conveyancer who did not reply. A week later I chased them for a reply and was told that another department handled this part of the process so they could not help me. They did not forward my enquiry to the department they said I needed to contact, nor did they give me the name of a person in that department. This is not a large company, I have been to their premises in Wickford (because I hand delivered a document they said they have never received). So they should easily be able to help me get to the right person. Now I have to begin again the frustrating process of getting through the fog of PCS Legal.

On their on-hold message they say that they deliver a level of service not normally associated with law firms. this is true because it's the worst level of service of any law firm.

I used this company because they were recommended by GoTo Conveyancing who I located via Phil Spencer's website. I thought they would be good if they are associated with Phil Spencer. But how wrong can you be? Do not under any circumstances deal with this company if you want to retain your sanity and are looking for good service.

I would most definitely not recommend this company to anyone. We have only just sold our home after almost 8 months. They never answer the phone, and when you do eventually get through to someone they promise to get the person to call you back but never do and you have to email to the point of complaining to get them to reply via email. I don’t recall ever actually speaking with a solicitor, instead they have conveyancing assistants who eventually do the work. Towards the last three weeks of our sale we had to take over the job ourselves and make contact with all necessary parties to get it over the line, otherwise we would likely still not have completed. Perhaps they take on far too much work that they can’t handle it all, or they are just not qualified for the job. Who knows.. but I’d steer well clear and advise everyone I know to do so too. We instructed in February 2022 and have only heard from our conveyancer once, promising to get in touch but that’s still not taken place.

The app has only been updated once, and that was at our request.

We have a very simple chain free transaction yet it’s taking an extremely long period of time and there is absolutely no communication. The apps not updates, emailed are not responded to and phone lines go to VM.

Frustratingly we didn’t instruct PCS legal direct, it was instead outsourced to them via Berkeley Group.

I would avoid using PCS Legal.

Very disappointing.

Worst company, never use them. They did not submit my application to land registry even after 9 months of completion and was lied that its with HMLR and delay was due to pandemic. I wish I have never used them.

Worst solicitor I have ever experienced. I am a first time buyer with no chain at either end and after 4 months, the most minimal progress has been made. You have to ring up at least 3 times a day for anyone to answer your call, no one ever calls you back, so if they fob you off by telling you someone will call you back, they won't. You also need to email at least 3 - 4 times before you receive a reply and even then, the reply is completely useless as they don't provide any coherent information about your case 'we are just waiting for this'.... 3 weeks later 'we are still waiting'.

They sent me important documents which went to my junk mail and didn't chase me up about it for 6 weeks! Just by luck, I looked in my junk mail and saw the documents, so don't expect them to lift a finger when it comes to progressing anything. If you don't ring them 3 times a day and constantly email them, I am certain nothing will ever be completed. When you speak to the solicitors, they don't seem to have a clue what they are talking about and also seem to forget that 99 % of their customers aren't trained in law, so speak to you in complex jargon, which is extremely unhelpful in understanding where you stand.

They tried to charge me stamp duty, which they only removed once I informed them I am a first time buyer, they asked me to transfer my deposit for the property, before even confirming that I am guaranteed the purchase of the property and on top of this even asked me for the wrong deposit amount. I genuinely believe they don't have a clue about any of their clients cases, they only look at it when you actually hassle them about it.

By far the most useless people I have ever worked with and I won't be surprised if the prospect of me purchasing a first time property falls through as I only have 5 weeks left until my mortgage runs out and nothing ever seems to progress.

Thanks PCS Legal for being the most useless, incompetent and disgraceful law firm anyone could possibly experience.

By far the worst conveyancers I have ever dealt with. Their phone line goes to an external company and none of my messages were acknowledged or returned. They are terrible at email correspondence and they made so many errors when handling our sale - they sent two contracts to the buyer's solicitors and both were wrong, in spite of the memorandum of sale sent to them with all the correct details on it. Both contracts had my name as the vendor and not my husband's as well, the wrong address for us and the wrong purchase price. One had the name of a previous buyer who had pulled out on the top and bottom and the other had the previous buyer on just the bottom. They also sent the buyer's solicitor the title deeds for another random property. They were so bad with communication that we had no option but to switch solicitors before exchange. I recommend paying more for a solicitor you can trust to do the job. More...

If I could have given them 0 stars I would have done.

I commissioned these solicitors at the start of July for a 'no chain' property purchase. I am yet to receive a move in date. I feel I have been lied too and taken for a ride. Never again would I use these "professionals". The only update you will ever receive from them in regards to your case is "they're waiting for outstanding enquiries" and will not tell you anything else.

The people who work there are rude and unhelpful and completely ignore emails and phonecalls. Their complaints department are no better either! Conveniently they do not have a record of the countless emails I've sent them asking for updates after weeks of radio silence and insist they've responded "in line with their policies" - to which I suggest their policies need changing then if that's the case!

Would never recommend this company and certainly will not be using them again

One of the worst conveyancing firms in the UK. There is no option for rating 0 so I had to give 1. They don't deserve a rating 1 out of 5. I had to wait until i get my registration document for writing this review:

1) You can't get hold of your conveyancer on the phone. You will be made to hear automated voice for more than 45 mins and then someone will pick up the phone and inform that they are busy and will get back to you. But you will never hear back from them
2) They don't even know how to fill the forms . My builder had to help them in completing help to buy related forms when govt rejected Authorised to exchange forms
3) You won't get any response for mails being sent to them. Myself and the builder had to threaten them on cancelling the conveyancing contract to make them respond to our important mails
4) They will desperately delay exchange of contract so that you will do last minute exchange and completion. This will help them in charging additionally for completion within one week of exchange
5) They will never understand your priority for exchange and completion. They will work on their own plan which will never go with your plan. YOu will get to a situation to cancel your house buying process
6) At some cases, training student will pick your call and will give a generic answer without understanding your actual query

I feel they are very busy with their current assignments due to which they are not able to serve new customers. Better we can stop giving business to PCS legal so that they can serve their existing customers better

For our first purchase we were assigned Megan to deal with our case. From day one, the communication and the service has been exceptional. Megan totally surpassed our expections, after a very difficult and challenging experience during the exchange of contracts with 7 people in the chain Megan took it upon herself to take control of the situation.
