We had a good experience with Naomi, never having had a dog before we maybe shouldn’t have taken on a terrier late in life, but we do love her and Naomi has given us confidence to cope with her energy.

Naomi is a lovely and compassionate trainer, dedicated to the dogs and is positive reinforcement based. She has a wealth of knowledge including great advice on raw feeding. She offers fun classes and informative workshops which guide caregivers on all aspects of having a fulfilled relationship with their dogs. The classes are great - dogs are learning manners and life skills, how to be great family members and canine good citizens yet you don't realise that that is what you are doing - training takes place without realising you are even training because of the way the activities are used. The more fun we are having the easier it is for dogs and humans to learn - but without having to keep giving instructions. It helps the humans become much more natural and skilled. We love to do our Parkour, Rally and distance work at Naomi's because of this.

The environment is safe and welcoming and it's great to be able to attend in all weathers because of the indoor area. We recently also had a go at Barn Hunt and the dogs loved it. Naomi offers class options and 1-2-1 training where that is more suitable but we also love our private fun agility sessions so that both my dogs can have a go and we can focus on what we need.

Naomi is also brilliant with puppy training and getting dogs off to a good start. My dogs are older but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her for puppy work as I have seen her in action and she offers the benefit of personalised private puppy and young dog training, something that as a behaviourist I wish more people would take up as it is so beneficial for young dogs. Too many group classes are poorly run or just mayhem or not monitored or supervised in the right way, creating more problems than the solve! I see the results of this all too often and prevention is much better than cure.

I hope more people look to Naomi for their training and getting their dogs off to a good start and take advantage of the amazing workshops and fun activities on offer as it isn't always easy to find things that benefit dogs in their mental and emotional journey in life. It is an area often overlooked and yet gives them confidence, resilience and a way of communicating with their human caregivers that all in all brings a much more rounded and equal partnership - one that is relational rather than transactional.

Thank you so much Tamasine. It is a real pleasure working with you. I really love watching your girls progression with their skills. We learn so much from our dogs and each other. It's so invaluable

We have been training our now 6mth old Jack Russell puppy since she was 11 weeks old under under Paws 4 Training guidance and care and we intend to continue due to the help and knowledge Naomi has given us in bringing out the best in our terrier. As Naomi owns her own terrier she knows the breed well and this was important to us as so many other trainers do not understand the breed and therfore do not help the dog reach their potential. We have achieved so much with our puppy and she is a joy to be around due to the dedicated training with have been shown how to do. Naomi's sessions are fun for both our puppy and us and we are given homework to work on. The information found on fact sheets on the website are also very useful and informative. I would not hesitate to recommend Naomi to anyone with a dog and in particular with the terrier breed. More...

I would absolutely recommend Naomi for any dog training required. I don't live local to Hempnall but there was never a question of me going anywhere else for puppy training, since I'd seen the results with my parents' dog and how much they had enjoyed going. I have completed the Puppy Clicker training and followed that with a progression training course.
Naomi is so passionate about what she does and has a real warmth to all her "pupils" - dogs and people alike. Everything is done from a position of encouragement and positive reinforcement. The additional reference material and videos are a great help.
I would highly recommend and cannot wait for Pippin to start agility.

Naomi has been a brilliant help with our puppy, I thoroughly recommend the Puppy course to all owners of new puppies, even if you’ve had a dog before Naomi’s gentle approach and up to date techniques will really help see you through those bitey / jumpy / selectively deaf phases they go through!

Q&As

The variety of puppies that I meet and working with owners to help them to create a great relationship with their puppy by educating them with gentle and kind ways to train

My first dog who was a rescue who had been severely abused.

I have worked in a training environment for many years and have excellent people skills with an empathetic approach understanding peoples worries and concerns of ensuring they train their puppies correctly. With not having a one-size fits all approach my training methods are adapted to suit each individual client.

I have my own training centre which is ideal for many types of training with both indoor and outdoor training areas. I can also travel to clients homes if this is the better option for them.

Services can be provided online or remotely for my bespoke services

The option of remote learning. Ensuring that people who are unwell do not attend class. Ensuring clients maintain 2 meters distance, hand washing and facemasks to be worn if required. Our classes are kept small and we train in an airy barn and have the option to train outside if required.

Services

We specialise in training young puppies from the age of 8 weeks of age and adolescent dogs.

We work with you to create a bespoke training programme. We include correct socailisation and habituation. We will teach you how you can work with your puppy/dog to lay fantastic foundation skills that will help with any further training progression.

Our qualified and experienced trainer will train your puppy or dog for you. This is a great way to fast track your puppy or dogs training to help make your training journey easier for you to progress your pups training further

Our programmes are bespoke, making them unique to what you would like to work on with Naomi. From helping you to find your puppy or dog's off switch to helping you to motivate them to work for you. Focussing on building a solid relationship with your puppy or dog helping you to achieve the training you want to achieve.

We make bespoke harnesses for puppies and dogs. Having a properly fitting harness is essential and will help your puppy or dog to feel more comfortable.

Our harnesses have 2 points of contact as standard and work best with a double-ended training lead. Our harnesses will help your puppy or dog to feel more balanced and will give you much more control than using just a collar or other types of harnesses.

They are Y front harnesses which means it does not restrict the natural shoulder movement of your puppy or dog. Some harnesses can restrict movement and can cause joint problems in young puppies and dogs.

We make leads, collars, training lines and safety straps. If you are looking for something that is bespoke for your requirements please do get in touch and we will see if we can help you.

Canine hoopers is low impact fun activity to do with your puppy or dog.

Once you have the foundation training sorted with your puppy hoopers will help to progress your puppy's training further.

We teach the puppy to run through hoops, go through tunnels and run around barrels. This is great a teaching your puppy some independence and will help with distance control.

This activity is also ideal for older dogs as it is low impact.

Dog parkour provides you with the opportunity for you to have fun with your dog while building confidence, learning new skills, and improving your relationship through enhanced communication and trust between you and your dog.

Whether you are new to parkour or would like to brush up on your skills, this training is for you.

Parkour increases confidence and improves focus. The steady nature of the activity helps create a calm environment for dogs to learn around other dogs.

As the dogs navigate their way onto, over, and around different obstacles it provides both a physical and mental workout for our dogs
