it had been a while since last visited the Spa, immediate difference from then to now, staff not has friendly or helpful, would benefit from customer service refresher, no greeting/ explanation of what was available etc as such or directions for where everything is. Changing rooms disappointing, only 2 hairdryers, no toiletries etc, . Lunch menu very limited as in only sandwiches, had cakes etc when I last visited. extra charge of £2.50 for a robe,.... really considering the price for the package, not value for money, however on a positive note the treatments were fantastic but the staff could have been more friendly & personable. Afternoon tea was very disappointing, not as menu no sultana scone just the smallest plain scone I have ever seen, cream was not Cornish clotted cream but some very cheap alternative that was nearly like water as was the jam, sandwiches were tasteless blini was nowhere to be seen, macaron was stale and cakes looked like they had been there for days, mousse item was bland and presented in a mini jam jar, not worthy of a 4 star hotel and def not worth £17. 50 price tag, all very cheap and nasty More...

Just back from a spa break with friends for the weekend ... it was perfect as it was an overnight stay with a beauty treatment with a three course dinner great value staff were friendly & rooms spotlessly clean beautiful grounds to relax & the fat abbot pub is situated within the Grounds which gives you a choice of dining . .. breakfast was a local selection with a hot breakfast buffet couldn't find one negative point 10/10 we will be back. stayed for a night in July which friends paid for 50th birthday present. food in main restaurant was excellent,staff friendly and helpful. we stopped in room 4 the room needs a deep clean dust everywhere finger prints left on television and mirror, rubbish left at the back of writing table , shower cubicle mouldy, cobb webs everywhere told reception sent two restaurant staff to polish. informed reception when checked out she wasn't interested. Lovely grounds and rooms, and he facial was lovely. But as we wasn’t allowed to have any drinks in the spa or pool area or outside and it was VERY hot weather, we had to get drinks from Fat Abbot while we were in our dressing gowns while people were eating their Sunday lunches . ..which was very uncomfortable ! Stayed at the hotel for a friends Wedding and the whole event was seamless and beautifully organised. Room spacious and clean, lovely gardens and ideal having choice of either hotel or pub, also in its grounds, for a drink and food. Fantastic choice at breakfast and food at The Fat Abbot on the evening was delicious. Lots of areas to sit, conservatory was lovely looking out on garden. Benches need a clean as lots of birds in gardens, service a bit slow at hotel and pub and drinks were expensive but otherwise lovely stay. X More...
