Wills and Estate Planning

Still working with them but so far excellent

Q&As

I started my own business because I wanted to enjoy my work and build something meaningful to myself. I knew that my skills were not being used in the best way in my other jobs and I felt that this was a waste. I also love the challenge of creating something new. I have always been a people person and I guess that's the main reason I love coming to work now. I enjoy talking to my clients and helping them get their concerns answered and affairs sorted so that they can go on and relax and enjoy life.

I was really fed up doing thankless tasks in an administration role. I have had other business interests in the past and it was a friend who gave me the courage to start this business venture when I was feeling a little stuck in my own routines. It really has been the best thing I have ever done.

Client's should choose me because they will always come first. I am ultimately concerned about the quality of my service and making sure that people have the right documents in place rather than being driven by profit. In this line of work you also have to have not only sensitivity but common sense and professionalism. I have a wonderful relationship with my clients and will continue to nurture new clients in the same way.

Services

An executor is responsible for administering the estate and distributing the assets in accordance with the Will. Sometimes a loved one may die without having left a Will, however their estate must still be dealt with according to the Law. To ensure that your wishes and/or those of your loved ones are adhered to and in accordance with the rules and laws of probate, it is standard and a worthwhile practice to appoint a professional and experienced firm.

We are proud to lead the way in caring and responsible probate and estate administration. We provide an incomparable and cost effective service where we will administer the estate from start to finish for a fixed fee. Our fees really do provide affordable peace of mind.

A Lasting Power of Attorney is an essential legal document which helps protect your interests during your life. Many people consider it as important as a Will and see it as one of the final pieces in the process of planning and protecting their estate.

Whilst a Will describes what happens when we die, we seldom think about who would manage our affairs, or make decisions regarding our welfare, should we not be able to do so ourselves.

There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney - one deals with property and financial affairs and the other with health and personal welfare. By using one or both these documents you can appoint whom you wish to manage your affairs and to make decisions regarding your medical treatment and welfare if and when you can no longer make decisions yourself. It’s not just in old age when this can be needed as both illness and accident can strike unexpectedly.

The simplest way of determining whether you might benefit from this document would be to ask yourself the question "if I couldn’t manage my affairs, who would have legal permission to do so for me?" This is very different from people just wanting to help. Banks, utility companies, even Local Authorities won’t speak to such people unless they have legal authority. This can only be given through a registered Lasting Power of Attorney.

We will be pleased to take you through the process of setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney and registering it with the Office of the Public Guardian.
