Boot camp makes you sweat, makes you burn and makes you feel on top of the world afterwards!

I am new boot camp at Orchard Grange and I already feel at ease with Berni and friends. I love the variety of exercises and the help I get to improve my technique. I am slowly building my strength and confidence to do press ups which I’ve always struggled with.

Berni is super supportive and helps you to push through to get the results you are looking for. She’s funny, knows her stuff and is great value for money. I’ll be recommending her to family, friends and colleagues. Thanks Berni x

Q&As

By trying as much as possible to understand where they are in their journey. I am human and at some point in my dance career have faced the emotions most of them have faced. I put myself in their shoes and if something doesn't work then we exhaust every method and option until
We get the right fit. Every goal is achievable you just have to find out what method of achieving it works for you!

Flexible dieting... as a social person myself I enjoy eating and having the occasional drink with friends. By taking this away from me I know I would be extremely miserable so I would never expect my clients to do the same. I am human and don't live of veg and chicken so I encourage my clients to embrace their vice and just teach them how to impliment into their goals or swap for a similar, healthier option. By taking away a complete food group or vice, a client (in my experience) will last no longer than 6 weeks.

Seeing the difference in people's lives. I once had a man who was on daily pain medication for around 3 years with Acute hip pain. After around 9 months of flexibility and mobility work he no longer needed medication and told me he was able to
Go back to work! Obviously this is a long process but the fact his pain is now controlled by other things such as knowing how to look after his body has allowed him to lead a more functional lifestyle!

I was a professional dancer who believed had I had a better understanding of my body and how to use it I would have got to my career goal a lot faster. I became a trainer with the view of working with athletes as well as the general public. At the end of the day we are all athletes at heart wanting to move better, jump higher, lift heavier, look better.

I pride myself on my knowledge of the body and correct technique. I can tell by someone's alignment if they will be prone to having problems in the future, this means I can correct them before the problem arises! I get disappointed in our industry when I see it's giving clients heavy weights their knees just won't put up with or giving silly complex ab exercises to a client with back pain. Getting you sweaty is the easy bit for us trainers!
