We tell everyone thinking about getting a dog to look at Oakwood Dog Rescue. What a fantastic organisation that does great work for these lovely dogs. We adopted Spencer Boswell last year and he turned from a nervous quiet dog into a smashing little boy full of confidence. This year we adopted our second Romy rescue Sasha Boswell who is different again and she has settled in nicely. The two of them are best of friends and constantly have me laughing at their antics. Me and my partner took our Labrador puppy to the puppy socialising sessions. He’s only been to 2, his first one he was rather nervous but tonight he’s come out of his shell it’s a brilliant way for your puppy to get used to others and the staff are very friendly and always there to help

I got Rogue from them a month ago - he is the sweetest dog and settling in really well. I think one of the best things about Oakwood is the fact that they work with you to find the right dog, rather than any dog - it might take more time, but you end up with a friend who fits into your life.

I have been taking my now 5 months old Cane Corso puppy Hugo to Oakwood since he was 8 weeks old, first we started with puppy socialising sessions, then we moved to puppy class & now we are attending Advanced puppy with George, both trainers George & Kerry are really knowledgeable & always happy to give me any advice I need, I also take Hugo to the doggy daycare, that is also brilliant, great for Hugo’s socialisation & is teaching him how to behave with other dogs. I would highly recommend Oakwood.

They are very professional at what they all do and make sure that you are committed to having a rescue dog and they are there if you need help with the rescue dog you have. We've had Casper just over 6 MONTHS i would not change anything about him. I adopted 'Alfie' from Oakwood over 4 weeks ago, I've found during the adoption process the staff to be extremely thorough, knowledgeable and approachable. I know and feel like I can turn to them in the future for any advice or guidance if needed. I'd highly recommend this rescue. Amazing dog rescue centre, doing amazing things. Staff are friendly and very supportive. Started as a volunteer dog walker and loved every minute. Decided to give a furever home to one of the lovely dogs, I wanted to take them all home but the experienced staff knew which ones suited my lifestyle and they are the only rescue centre that cat test the dogs. A gem of a place in the most unexpected location! We adopted our Rommy Rescue from Oakwood a few days ago, after a weeks home trial. We have been totally impressed with the careful and thorough procedure to make sure the dogs and the potential new family are right for each other. First social puppy class tonight with my 9 week old Cavalier king Charles called Oliver and it was brilliant. Friendly staff and everything all controlled. I was worried about Oliver been small but he was great with the other dogs who were a lot bigger than him. I LOVE Oakwood. We have been taking Dexter our Golden Retriever puppy to Puppy Play almost every day. He has so much fun while he is there and is learning how to socialise without realising it. Both myself and my cockapoo Maisie have loved the puppy play and the six week training course. Maisie also spends one day a week at the dog day school which she enjoys and comes home shattered but content. I also like the extra training that they receive in the dig day school.
