Q&As

My job allows me to combine a love of the outdoors and exploration with a love of animals and in particular dogs. There is great appeal and satisfaction in meeting new people and their dogs and taking those dogs on new adventures to new and favourite places. Being around animals has been proven to lower your blood pressure and stress levels so working with dogs can't be a bad thing!

After working in the NHS as a paramedic for just under 10 years and then a Government job for 4 years I enjoyed the challenge but longed to have the freedom to pursue my passions and work for myself. I have always been an animal person and come from a family of dog lovers. During my time in the emergency services I admired the work of police and prison service dogs and the dedication of their handlers to the welfare of the dogs as well as allowing them to thrive doing what they do best. Dog walking allows me to follow my passion while retaining the freedom of working for myself. It also allows me the flexibility to help clients who work outside the 9 til 5 environment.

I believe that dogs should be dogs and it is important to allow them to do that. Speaking from personal experience I know how busy and chaotic the modern world can be and it can be difficult at times to give our furry friends the time that they need. All dogs have needs that must be fulfilled on a daily basis, some more urgent than others but all dogs feel happy and content when all of their needs are met. In many circumstances dogs who have developed unwanted behaviours do so because their basic needs are not being met. Part of a dog's daily needs is the requirement for exercise and to explore. A well exercised dog has a chance to shed excess energy which otherwise may manifest itself as anxiety or destructive behaviours. However dog walking also gives dogs social interaction, play time and the understanding that they are loved and a part of something.

Through my dog walking business I will help your dog to ensure their needs are being met leaving your dog happy, content as part of your loving family.
