I've been seeing Peter since April 2022 and would highly recommend. I started going as a preventative measure due to doing a highly physical job. However, I did not think he would be able to treat an issue I have had with my knee and shoulder for years! Within the initial consultation, Peter went into depth about what I wanted out of the sessions, and he thoroughly assessed the point I was at. While at the beginning I started with regular sessions, once the main issues I had were treated, session have become less frequent to maintain the progress made. Peter is passionate in teaching about form in every day tasks and tasks specific to what you do as a continued way to look after your own health. He ensures to explain it in a way that is easy to understand, and is incredibly patient and knowledgeable. I can trust that if I have an issue outside of the scope of his treatment, that Peter would signposted me to the appropriate resource. While I went to Peter to prevent injury, the sessions have gone above and beyond my expectation as aches/pains I had that I thought were just 'part of life' have been treated and resolved. Overall: professional, patient, and good value for money. More...

The team at Nimbus Clinics are absolutely amazing. I originally started attending chiropractic sessions at the clinic for a running injury, which neither a physiotherapist nor a sports therapist had been able to resolve. As this was predominantly an issue with my leg, I was dubious that a chiropractor would actually be able to help. I shouldn’t have been! The team at Nimbus Clinics took the time to find out the cause and correct the issues that had led to my injury, which no one that I’d seen before had ever taken the time to do. Not only have I been able to return to running pain-free, but I think my overall understanding and health have improved. The knowledge, care and kindness that the team offer is exceptional. I genuinely don’t believe any other clinic comes close to the service provided here. It’s clear that the team have a real care for their patients. Not only that, but to my surprise, I have really enjoyed every session that I’ve had! You are made to feel so at ease and welcome every time you step through the door, I actually look forward to my appointment every month! I can’t recommend the team enough. Thank you Nimbus Clinics! Q&As

There's nothing better to us than building a strong relationship and connection with our clients. Making a difference to their quality of life so they can get back to doing the things that they love most brings us a deep sense of satisfaction. Understanding the unique differences that everyone has and how we need to adapt to that person's needs and help them understand how to apply our self care principles to their occupation or lifestyle and seeing it "click" is one of the most rewarding parts of our role.

We saw that there was something missing in typical healthcare. It's fine to treat and work on areas that are sore and uncomfortable for people, but understanding why something has developed and what does that person need to do to recover long term and what can we teach them to take more ownership over their health makes a much bigger impact.

Integrating current concepts of rehabilitation and bridging the gap to performance is something that seems to be lacking across the industry.

We decided to take a unique approach to truly tailoring a client's experience based on their needs and requirements. Which is why for the chiropractic services we provide, the length of time for each appointment is based on the complexity of the case and what we need to do for the individual, rather than a one size fits all approach.

We are passionate about empowering people with life skills and understanding about how they can take more ownership over their health and work in a mutual partnership with our clients. We will teach you the things you may need to incorporate, do more of, or refrain from doing to help you get back to doing what you love most whilst we assist you on your health journey with the bits you can't do for yourself (like manual treatment from an expert).

We provide complimentary video consultations for those who require them to check in and discuss self care strategies and exercises to assist our clients as part of their overall wellbeing.

We have maintained the use of PPE. Our front desk team and practitioners still wear masks to ensure we create an environment where everyone feels safe and comfortable. We clean and disinfect our treatment couches after every visit and wear gloves during procedures that require them. If you would prefer our practitioners to take additional precautions if you are vulnerable, please contact us with your requirements and we will endeavour to do our best to cater to your needs.

Services

Many musculoskeletal tissues can be injured or suffer from various physical and chemical changes that lead to inflammation, diminished functionality and pain. Through the manipulation or adjustment of the affected joints and tissues, an experienced chiropractor can restore mobility, alleviate pain and help those tissues begin to heal.

At Nimbus Clinics, we provide skilled, non-invasive techniques to treat your back, neck and joint issues.

We can diagnose your situation, offer a range of appropriate care options and consult with you on some preventative measures to improve mechanical disorders in the musculoskeletal system.

Chiropractic emphasises manual therapy – especially on the spine – but may also include guidance and consultations for health and lifestyle changes.

The most common technique that people visit the local chiropractor for is spinal manipulation. As chiropractors, we apply a quick, specific impulse to the joints that are otherwise experiencing painful or restricted movement. This is called an “adjustment.”

There are also other techniques that can help to get the results we want. This can include special rehabilitative exercises that contribute to better joint mobilisation or strengthening supporting muscles.

Nimbus Clinics employs a range of diagnostic skills to determine the most effective chiropractic care for your situation. This assessment is critical to help us paint the best overall picture of your current health status.

Through clinical examination, testing and diagnostic imaging we can determine the most appropriate course of action for you. If you require other tests or treatments from other medical professions outside of chiropractic, we can point you in the right direction.

You can work with a chiropractor who can help you understand all of your options. Our recommendations are always based on the severity or the timing of the condition and will also be dependent on what you want to get out of your care with us.

We may require several visits or suggest massage therapy or work together with other specialists to help you get the most out of your care with us.

Massage therapy focuses on the musculoskeletal system while chiropractic deals with the nervous system. To put it another way, chiropractic addresses the hard tissues, like the spine and various joints, while massage therapy focuses on the soft tissues.

When you get both of these services together, you can cover the entire system.

If these disciplines are so closely related, does it really make that much of a difference?

The short answer is that it absolutely does.

We can use massage techniques to relax the body between adjustments. Gradually loosening up some of those tight muscles can often complement your chiropractic adjustments.

Soon, you’ll start to feel some of your everyday stresses begin to melt away as your blood flow begins to increase. When your muscles are nice and relaxed, it can increase the comfort of your adjustments and aid with your sleep.

It’s one thing to receive a massage just to help you relax, but at Nimbus Clinics, we provide massage therapy with the express intent of helping you reach your peak of health and reduce some of the soreness and tenderness you may be feeling.

We work to relax your muscles and increase your blood flow, so our chiropractic solutions can be more effective.

At Nimbus Clinics we use principles of sport and exercise science and physiology to help with injury prevention and rehabilitation, to get you back to optimal functional, occupational or sport specific fitness.

Sports massage therapy is about more than treating pain, though. It can also help to promote flexibility and decrease stress, which can help you improve your game so you can play more confidently.

Even if you don’t experience a debilitating injury, you can take advantage of our massage therapy techniques to wind down, relax your muscles, and make sure you’re ready for the next big game.

Nutrition is also an important part of this process. Your body is a connected organism, which means that the right dietary plan can also contribute to injury recovery and overall health and well-being.

Of course, sometimes injuries happen despite all our best efforts. In these cases, our sports therapists offer rehabilitation programmes can help you start on the path to competing again.

If you’ve overdone it with your physical activity lately or have been spending long periods of time inactive, then a sports massage could be the ideal solution.

A highly effective treatment for dealing with muscular problems caused from physical activity, repetitive actions, stress, inactivity and poor posture, sports massages involve a range of techniques designed to achieve a specific outcome, such as reducing aches and pains.

While their name may suggest they’re only for sportspeople, that’s not strictly true. Whether you’re planning on recovering in time for an upcoming marathon, have been spending more time inactive at home lately, or are keen to relieve your muscular pain after sleeping awkwardly, a sports massage is designed to speed up your recovery, reducing any muscular tension you’ve built up recently.

Here are a few benefits you may experience:

Improved range of motion of joints,
reduced neurological excitability,
improved mental health,
reduced likelihood of injury,
improved flexibility,
reduced recovery time,
improved sleep,
reduced number of muscle spasms,
improved blood flow and
reduced muscle tension.

Nimbus Clinics provides specialised therapies for people who are experiencing pain or stiffness caused by sports participation. Whether you require a sports massage before an event to help you relax and get loose, or a therapeutic treatment to reduce soreness after a game, we can help.

The sports-related issues we help with focus on specific areas of your body, so you can continue to play to your strengths and give it your best efforts. Get those tight muscles worked on, make sure your shoulders are flexible and strong, and start to manage the discomfort you may be feeling.

Rehabilitation is an important part of the healing process and at Nimbus Clinics our goal is to help you re-establish your flexibility, mobility and core strength so you can optimise your recovery.

Chiropractic adjustments are the start, but when they’re combined with the right rehabilitation plan, we can be even more effective. It comes down to the right movements and the right intensity, to build an effective recovery process.

Many people experience muscle imbalances related to strenuous activity or a long-term lack of activity. In some other cases, muscles become over-activated and may shorten or lose endurance. Whatever the cause, rehabilitation is a critical part of the healing process.

Many of these problems require strengthening or retraining of muscles to fully overcome the problem.

In these cases, we may recommend a rehabilitation programme. Whether your problem stems from certain injuries or years of poor posture or work habits, we can develop a programme for you.

Recovery is all about taking a complete approach to your health and wellness. We may begin with chiropractic or sports therapy and then start adding some rehabilitative exercises. From there, we may look into ways to improve joint mobility and flexibility, or if strengthening your core will help avoid pain or relapse in the future we'll help you work on that too.

Everyone is different and we can work with you to create a rehabilitation programme for your specific needs.

Rehabilitation is not something that is going to happen overnight. It’s not supposed to.

It is supposed to take your body from one state to another and provide lasting results.

It’s critically important to stick to your plan to minimise the risk of relapse. We want to optimise your recovery and many of our clients often do so well with this process that they then choose to build on the foundations they've created with a strength & conditioning programme to help support their healthy lifestyle.

At Nimbus Clinics, we can develop strength and conditioning programmes specifically for you.
This is an important part of our process because as you build your strength our other chiropractic services can speed up your recovery.

This, in turn, increases your ability to achieve better results.

Any athlete – especially those who do a lot of weight training – are going to put a lot of stress on their bodies. The type of strength & conditioning programmes we develop for you are designed to optimise your performance, maximise your strength gains and reduce the risk of injury.

Proper strength and conditioning can help you prepare for the types of physical stresses that we face every day. Whether you’re looking for pre-season conditioning or help with post-season recovery, we can help you prepare your body for a variety of activities.

Core strengthening can help stabilise and build the musculature that is used for a wide range of movements. As you continue to build your core, you can become more confident in your movement and you may begin to notice increases in your strength and control.

It all starts with your core. This is the foundation on which we can build a lot of power.

Conditioning isn’t just about targeting certain muscles in the body. It’s about a complete approach to health and strength.

At Nimbus Clinics we also make nutritional recommendations to assist with maintaining a healthy weight that will support your lifestyle. Proper nutrition can also affect your recovery time, we advise on this so you can recharge between sessions and get ready to get back out there and give it your all.

At Nimbus Clinics, we take a complete approach to your health, which means the right nutrition plan is just as important as any other element of our practice.

Our chiropractic services are built on the idea that your body can do a lot to maintain its own health, as long as your nervous system and everything else is functioning at it’s best.

We can help you maintain that kind of functionality through chiropractic, effective exercise programmes and a custom nutrition plan. This way we can do more than just focus on a single problem area. We can help you build and strengthen your overall health.

We approach your health from two different angles.

The first is chiropractic adjustments that work on your muscles, joints, tendons and bones. These are all the things that are controlled by the nervous system.

The second is with good nutrition, which addresses the functions of many other organs that are controlled by the nervous system.

By making good nutritional choices, you can get things heading in the right direction. Our nutritional consultations may include how to make healthier food choices or implementing a regimen around an anti-inflammatory diet.

Everyone has different nutritional needs and we will work closely with you to tailor a programme that helps you get the results you want.

Gait analysis is where a skilled and experienced clinician assesses and evaluates body movements, biomechanics and the activity of muscles during an individual’s normal manner of walking or running.

In our experience there’s a lot you can learn and understand about how and why someone moves in the way they do. What we can’t see however, is how force is transmitted through different parts of the joints and tissues in the feet through the ground.

To enhance our clinician’s gait analysis experience, we use a specialist foot scanner to gather more data about how and why more force goes into different areas of your feet and what the biomechanical implications may be for this from a short or long term perspective.

Using this with elements of sports biomechanics helps us to understand the more intricate details of what we can do to help everyday people or athletes alike to walk or run more efficiently and to identify posture related or movement related problems in people with or without injuries.

We use the information we gather to assist you with optimising the way you walk and/or run or to suggest if a particular type of shoe or insole might help to provide more support.

Orthotics use arch supports to help align or support different movable parts of the foot and ankle. They are shoe inserts that are used to improve foot function and irregular or abnormal walking patterns.

Many different situations may call for orthotics. We most often recommend them for:

Arch pain,
heel pain,
flat feet (that are causing foot pain or issues in the ankles, legs, knees, hips or lower back) and
overpronation (feet rolling in too much).

Of course, this is just a small list. There may be any number of issues that call for orthotics. Be sure to talk to us about it to learn more about your options.

The goal of orthotic devices is to change the pressure on certain points of the feet in order to relieve painful symptoms. These devices can:

Help align and support the feet or ankles,
improve some of the function of the foot or ankle and
help accommodate various foot deformities.

It’s also possible to use them to help to make your shoes more comfortable.

Orthotics can address a wide range of issues, but just like everything else, it requires a complete approach in order to see the best results.

At Nimbus Clinics, we don’t just fit you with an insole and send you on your way. We assess the biomechanical function of your feet, take a scan of each foot and create a bespoke, high quality 3D printed custom orthotic for you that fits like a glove. We can combine this with rehabilitation programmes or massage therapy to help you feel even better.
