What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
That depends on the subject of course but a combination of experience, creativity, attention to detail, confidence and the ability to understand what the client is looking for. Having a camera of some sort is quite important too!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is the end result you are looking for?, when would you like potential work by?, where would you like it undertaken? and what would your ideal budget be?
What do you love most about your job?
I love the variety of work I get to do the people I get to meet and the reactions I get from the end results.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted the freedom of being able to treat each client like an individual rather than work to rigid formats. I have been self employed for 18 years, ten of which were from my own studio in Surrey. I have enjoyed an incredible career as a photographer, worked very hard and now, having relocated back to the north look forward to a better work/life balance.

I am very adaptable, am a perfectionist, am very experienced and always aim to give a great service, providing a good experience af the same time. I have a sense of humour too!

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am happy to wear a mask when required, am triple vaccinated and act sensibly when out and about, avoiding putting myself at risk.
Child & Baby Photography
Having spent much of the early part of my career as an instore and studio photographer, I have plenty of experience with children and photographing them in a relaxed and natural way. I am DBS checked too.
Event Photography
I have covered many of events, previously based in the London and Surrey area. From family occasions and corporate events to exclusive cruise events and Royal visits - for the last twelve years I have been the official photographer at the Royal Variety Performance and have covered many high level charity events. I offer secure online galleries for your guests/atendees to access digital images and always aim to overdeliver!
Charity Photography
I have worked with over 80 charities during my career, not only covering fund raising events but undertaking impact and case study photography, always aiming to create a positive and memorable occasion for all people involved.
General Portraiture
I love doing shoots in interesting locations whether they be places of beauty or gritty and quirky industrial landscapes. Having done hundres of weddings during my career I know how to capture emotion. I no longer shoot weddings but do couple shoots, maternity photoshoots, family groups or individual profile sessions. I am also available to create modelling portfolios, including the creation of book style albums.
One to One Photography Tuition.
Whether you want to learn to shoot like a pro using a DSLR or simply take better photos with your phone, I’m your man. I am completely self taught so can teach in a simplistic way things like, composition, posing techniques, people management, depth of field and editing.
