Nathan has been such a fab teacher. He explains things really clearly and is really thorough at each new phase. I hadn't picked up a saxophone in such a long time and am now seeing myself progress week on week. Can't recommend him enough!

Have had around 10 lessons with Nathan so far and I am delighted with the progress I am making. I was always skeptical about taking video lessons over face to face, as I though quality would be a big issue but Nathan’s setup is fantastic and has no issues. Nathan is also able to pick up mistakes you are making easily and offer advise and suggestions on how to fix them. Would highly recommend anyone to take lessons with Nathan and if you don’t already play the Saxaphone then give it a go! More...

Saxophone Lessons

Good contact right from the beginning. Friendly, helpful, interactive, intelligent, knowledgeable. Just a down-right good teacher. Highly recommended!

I started lessons with Nathan 3 months ago as an adult beginner on a bit of a lockdown whim, and I would highly recommend him. He's very engaging and patient and adapts to the right level of challenge to keep you motivated. He's also been great at catching where I'm going wrong, even online, and clearly explaining techniques. After 10 years of butchering the violin and thinking I had minimal musical talent, I'm very happy with how far I've already progressed on the sax and it's really testament to Nathan's skills as a teacher, so thank you! Saxophone Lessons

Nathan is a great guy who has a fine understanding of the Sax. He is able to pick up nuances quickly that can go a long way in learning to play the instrument correctly as a beginner and not build bad habits in. Nathan is patient but lively and has really helped keep my enthusiasm high in learning the Sax. More...

I started lessons with Nathan in September as an adult beginner saxophonist and would highly recommend him as a teacher. He's really patient, encouraging and engaging, with just the right degree of humour. I've been particularly impressed at how he handles online teaching with a complete beginner (even navigating long distance instrument repair after I managed to bash it). Pleasantly surprised that I'm already able to play simple duets with my kids. So glad I finally took the lockdown plunge and started to learn - a real highlight in a bonkers year. More...

I am from Slovakia, so english is not my first language, working full time so not much of free time, however. I have got this present SAXOPHONE and I wanted to learn how to play. ...now in 4 months I pass grade 1. And I cannot believe how easy is to play when Nathan is supporting. Is very enjoyable and I love to practice alone. I believe he makes the learning much more enjoyable and easier. He is explaining everything in the way that I am able to understand. Willing to pay every peny and it is worth it. More...

Saxophone Lessons

Hi all, I am from Slovakia, 39 year old, full time working as manager and extremely busy at work and exhausted after work. English is not my first language, however. I have got this present SAXOPHONE and I wanted to learn.... in 4 months I pass grade 1. And I cannot believe how easy is to play when Nathan is supporting. Is very enjoyable and I love to practice alone. I believe he makes the learning much more enjoyable and easier. He is explaining everything in the way that I am able to understand. Willing to pay every peny and it is worth it. So I will recommend Nathan 1000000% go for it. And all the best. I love it. More...

Saxophone Lessons

I didn't but I may well in future

My son Alistair, 14 years old, has been taking lessons in the last 6 months and his level has significantly increased. Nathan proposes a mix of plays, technics and has been able to keep him motivated. Nathan has a very good contact, strong listening and communication skills and has created right from the beginning a trustful relationship: key for success. The lessons are very well structured and he is encouraging the student and highlighting his success. The use of Zoom has been very efficient and Alistair adapted very quickly to the set up without any difficulty. South of France to London ! I thus highly recommend Nathan as a teacher for his saxophone skills but also his strong ability to teach to teenagers. More...

I have been taking online lessons with Nathan since the summer and would thoroughly recommend him as a teacher. He is patient and encouraging and immediately put me at my ease. Lessons are fun and the repertoire is varied and changes often so one does not become stale. I think I have developed more in the last six months than I have for the past ten years! More...

Saxophone Lessons

Nathan is a great saxophonist and has loads of information to offer students. Nathan’s lesson was the first online instrument class I had ever taken and I was really happy with the outcome even though we weren’t face to face.

I was so nervous about learning to play and read music for the first time as a ‘mature’ adult, but I needn’t be, Nathan is good humoured, calm, understanding and supportive. I can see that his relaxed style can be easily adapted to any age group or ability either face to face or virtually via v/c. I can’t recommend him highly enough and hope to continue having lessons for many years to come. More...

I picked up my sax after a 30 year "break" and have been having lessons with Nathan for the last 6 months. He has been fantastic at helping me develop my skills. There is a nice balance of technical studies and "tunes" which is so much more interesting than music lessons at school. He is knowledgeble , insightful and patient! More...

Services

Currently due to the pandemic all lessons are being delivered online using Zoom. This is because unfortunately there are concerns about the spread of the virus through through saliva/water droplets when playing woodwind and brass instruments which make face-to-face lessons unpractical at this time (unless a very large space is available for lessons, and sympathetic neighbours as windows will need to be open for ventilation).

This the start of the pandemic I've been really pleased (and if I'm honest slightly surprised) with just how successful online lessons can be, and just how popular online lessons are. As well as students all over the UK, I now have students in France, Kenya, Spain, USA, Cyprus and Hong Kong.

Here are my current online teaching rates: -

30 min - £22.50 each
45 min - £30 each
60 min - £40 each

If you have any queries about how online lessons can work please do just let me know.

Best Wishes,
