Hi, my name is Marianna - founder of MPOWERED FITNESS. I work as an in-person and online personal trainer in Stockport, specialising in women's fitness and pre/postnatal coaching.

I work with you in your home through Zoom or when the circumstances allow, you can train 1-1 completely privately with me in my gym in Romiley.

Marianna is a fantastic trainer! I’ve attended her mpowered class for mums, and also worked with her online during Covid. She is compassionate, understanding, and fully knowledgeable about training when you’re either pre or post natal . The class is challenging but fun, and the babies seem to enjoy it too as there is plenty of toys and bouncers etc for them to play with. 100% recommended 👍 More...

5***** service. Marianna is fantastic! I had her as my personal trainer 1-1. Really supportive and works with you. Assess where you are, what you’re capable of and what you want to achieve and helps you get there. Frequent check ins and reviews too. She adapts any workout programs to fit you. Whether that be at home workouts and / or gym workouts if you have / want a gym membership too. I’d always been so put off by gyms but with Marianna on hand to guide me through, I thoroughly enjoy them now. Not necessary though as she has plenty of at home workouts suitable for all to go at. It really is tailored to each individual. She’s always on hand for any queries you have or if you just need some more support / motivation. She also helps you feel better about yourself and your efforts which helped me keep going massively. I started with Mariana approximately 6 weeks PP in her group sessions and then the smaller group training. My baby is 5. 5 months. My strength is increasing slowly, I’ve lost lots (not all) of my baby weight but most importantly my confidence in training is returning. All the other mums are lovely and it’s so nice to have somewhere to train where you can take baby along - it’s very unique. I would highly recommend. More...

If you have a small baby that's not on the move and want to do some exercise, I highly recommend Mpowered Fitness with Marianna. Bring the baby and do Pilates type exercise and it's a top session. If you don't have a baby, go anyway ☺️ she got me motivated into doing more exercise and to actually leave the house with the baby. it was hard work but I always felt refreshed afterwards, apart from the first time where I couldn't walk for 3 days because I did workout too hard haha. excellent workout/training and there's enough toys to entertain the babies while they wait for you to do your thing ☺️ More...

Marianna was great training me once I’d recovered from my c-section … the first session was a detailed session of how I’m feeling and what I’m capable of physically then each week a training plan was set in place accordingly. I'm so pleased that I joined Marianna's group class with my 8 month old baby. It unlocked part of the old me that I hadn't even realised had disappeared! It was the boost I needed to reconnect with my body, and even motivated me to get my running shoes on again. Unlike other classes I have previously been to, Marianna keeps going no matter how vocal the babies get (always mine!) and didn't leave me feeling guilty afterwards. She is understanding, professional and excellent at what she does. The emphasis really is on exercise rather than the baby and I loved that. I had my second baby just before lock down. After my first, I really struggled with exercise, eating healthy, keeping my energy levels high. I found myself stuck in a rut and it took me a looong time to start seeing my old self again. After my second, I was determined not to go through it again. I spent lots of money on gym subscriptions, PTs who didn't really care or engage and diets. None of which worked. I knew I would only have a few hours a week to myself and needed to make each minute work hard for me. I met Marianna and she was so in tune with what I needed. I was still breast feeding, on maternity leave with an older child who just started school. Marianna taught me how to exercise the right way, build strength, eat well without giving up everything and make the most from my limited time to exercise. She was compassionate and yet encouraged me to move forward and progress. She was exactly what I needed during a very vulnerable time. When I started I couldn't even get though a 10 minute circuit holding tin cans. A year later I've lost 10 kg, am so much more toned and the best bit is I have my mojo back. Marianna is brilliant! I've been attending (virtually, thanks Covid) her postnatal classes for over 9 months now, and more recently her evening class. She is so supportive, always happy to make adjustments to your level and has given me confidence back in what my postpartum body can do. Plus, she's lovely! Would highly recommend, especially if you are pre or postnatal. More...

After a long lockdown I felt very stodgy and unfit so looked for a local trainer and am so lucky to have found Marianna. I am 56 so a little self-conscious about visiting public gyms full of young, fit types!

Marianna was great - right from the start - she really got to know me, how I wanted to feel and how to best help me achieve this.

The sessions were always challenging and varied enough not to be boring - working on cardio/strength and flexibility.

For anyone of any age or fitness level - I cannot recommend Marianna highly enough.

I came across Marianna after a considerable length of time away from any form of exercise, apart from fairly regular running. I’d had 2 children and after the birth of my first I’d got into CrossFit, but after my second I’d had some complications that had kept me away from the gym and had given me ‘the fear’ of doing any sort of weight training.

Marianna called me and we had a very open and honest chat about my post-natal challenges and I knew then that she fully understood and got me. I was looking for a trainer who was focussed on helping me to strengthen my body safely and recognised the importance of training women the ‘right way’ – which hadn’t always been my experience.

We started working together in November 2019 and its been a great journey so far, I was training with Marianna at a small gym near work but since the lockdown we have been having regular Zoom sessions twice a week, with additional workouts programmed in between. Every workout is totally different – which is key for me given the way my head works (it’s easy to get bored or second guess which makes working out harder for me). The encouragement she gives is great, even if I’m feeling a bit off and tired I soon get into it.

Marianna also looks at nutrition, but it was always less of a focus for me although it’s something I want to look more closely at and I know the support is there from Marianna. My main goal is to feel good, get stronger and have higher energy levels which has definitely been the case. If you are looking for a great PT who is brilliant with people I would recommend Marianna 100%.

Personal Trainers

Marianne is such a versatile PT, she helped me identify emotional eating Triggers and build up a healthy manageable routine, during our time together she would do regular and in depth check ins, not just for health and fitness but about life too and I found that to be important on my road to a better lifestyle, she’s super approachable and exceptionally professional, I managed to lose weight even though I was in lockdown - I hope to work with marianne again in the future!

I started working with Marianna just before my wedding last year. I had worked with a personal trainer before and was keen to get back in shape before the big day. I loved working with Marianna. She listened to my goals before we started and helped me to recognise what I needed to achieve. Marianna was great at putting together a workout that suited me. As I was really busy during the run up to wedding I could complete my sessions whenever needed and always felt encouraged by her. All the sessions Marianna created were inspiring and interesting - a great thing when I usually find the gym very boring. Marianna walked me through everything at the gym so I felt really confident about completing every work out. I would highly recommend working with Marianna. I started working with Marianna in June of this year after I moved to NZ; I’ve been working out in a gym for the last few years and was keen to carry on once I moved but knew I needed some help as I had reached a point in my fitness where I felt frustrated and had hit a bit of a dip. Marianna created a program for me that I can follow at home, that is do-able but also really challenges me in the areas that I need it/have asked for it! She’s great at keeping in contact and reviewing goals and progress and then changing or adding new workouts to reflect those conversations and is so good at just checking in to see how you’re doing in general. I really appreciate having that accountability which I don’t think you always get with a PT; I’ve found that to be a big motivator, especially at points when I’ve found things a bit hard because I know there’s no judgement - it’s like having your own cheerleader and I’m finding I’m starting to be able to do things that I’d written off being able to ever do. I can’t recommend Marianna highly enough. It great to work with someone who takes time to understand where you’re at and what you want to achieve, and who is so encouraging but will also kick your butt while she does it! I’ve got a way better grasp of my overall wellbeing since I began training Marianna – not just in my physical fitness and nutrition but also with keeping healthy mindsets and habits on good and bad days. I like to work alongside my clients whereby we agree on a plan they feel confident in. I provide a high level of support and accountability and we set short term achievable goals that lead to them achieving their long term goals. We also have fun too!

There's no such thing. Instead, there is the best version of the body you have. Making any changes to your lifestyle requires hard work and sacrifice. But when you learn to love and value your body, give it the food it needs to flourish and you enjoy movement and exercise you'll discover that the body you're in is the most wonderful gift.

The amazing people I get to work with. I’m continually inspired by them and their determination. I also love the fact that my work keeps me active despite spending far more time in front of a computer recently than I had planned.

I wanted to build a business on the values I believed in. Also, I struggled to find the right expertise when I had difficulties with my own postnatal recovery, so I decided I would become the coach that I had needed as a new mother.

I'm not intimidating or patronising. I coach with compassion and empathy. I've struggled with my weight and know what it feels like to be out of control with eating. If you want a coach who will listen, inspire and encourage you then I'm the right person. If you want someone who will shout at you and shame you into 'good behaviour' then that's not me.

Yes, all services are offered online via Zoom with regards to 1-1 and group classes. All online coaching delivered outside of that is through my app whereby clients access their training programmes, video demonstrations of exercises and instant messaging with me when they need me.

When I do train clients 1-1 it's either outdoors or in a completely private facility so I'm able to easily social distance as well as operate a strict clean down of equipment before and after use.

A weekly online class for mums and mums-to-be, providing pre/postnatal women with a structured and supportive class to provide a full body workout with special focus on your core and glutes. All low impact and safe for diastasis recti and pelvic floor dysfunction. Babies very welcome! For postnatal women, suitable from 6 weeks old, post GP check.

A personalised approach to training post-birth in the comfort of your home - so no childcare needed - we address any postnatal issues (diastasis recti, pelvic organ dysfunction) work on re-building core strength and use functional exercises so that you can return to the activities you loved doing pre-baby.

For those women who want to train in a gym environment I have a private gym setting in Romiley, Stockport. 1-1, Couples or Small Group options available.
