Sports Therapy Consultation and Treatment
Sports Therapy aims to restore movement and function to the body with a constructive plan to keep the issues away! For injury rehabilitation, sports preparation, and post-injury care, time with a sports therapist is extremely valuable and a key part of recovery.
⭐️ Benefits:
A detailed physical assessment from a qualified Sports Therapist.
Hands-on treatment to relieve pain in muscles or joints, and restore movement in physically restricted areas.
A route to recovery through exercise and lifestyle adjustments.
📍 Your consultation will begin with a talk through your medical history, any current or past injuries, and a postural and gait analysis where required.
There will be an assessment of your physical condition, including tests on strength and range of motion of the problem areas.
Sessions will include some manual treatment which usually includes: Stretching, Joint Manipulation, and some light exercise.
Your session will leave you with an understanding of the cause of discomfort or injury and a plan for recovery which usually includes: a routine of daily Stretches and Exercises, recommendations for further treatment, and a timeline for improvement.
⚠️This treatment may not be suitable if:
You’re pregnant (only suitable after the first trimester of pregnancy).
Sports Therapy Follow-up Treatment
Continued treatments enable the tracking of your progress and build of your recovery plan. It’s the best way to keep you on track and ensure the results are long-lasting.
⭐️ Benefits:
A route to recovery.
Further assessment of physical health and mobility.
Further hands-on treatment and exercises to strengthen and restore movement.
📍Follow-up sessions start with a review of your progress, with a physical assessment conducted on range of movement and strength in problem areas.
Manual treatment will then be adapted to your current needs.
The session will finish by building on your routine of stretches and exercises to keep up the progress!
⚠️ This treatment may not be suitable if:
You’re pregnant (only suitable after the first trimester of pregnancy).
Deep Tissue
Great for freeing up tense muscles, realigning tissues, and speeding up recovery.
⚡️Pressure = Strong
Expect: Elbow, Fist, and Forearm work with a gradual increase in pressure.
Aids to reduce tension that may be affecting movement or causing muscle aches.
⭐️ Benefits:
Strong pressure to reduce tension and stiffness.
Specific areas are targeted to help free them up.
📍You may feel a little sore after a deep tissue treatment but this should ease within 72 hours.
Relaxing
We could all do with some more TLC in our lives and it just so happens that this relaxing treatment is perfect for that! Whether you’re struggling to sleep, got deadlines or just want some quality ‘me’ time, this could be the massage for you!
⚡️ Pressure = Light-Medium.
This treatment relaxes your muscles and calms your nervous system - the perfect recipe for relaxation.
⭐️ Benefits:
An improved night’s sleep due to a calmed nervous system.
A reduction in cortisol levels (the hormone that is produced when you feel stressed).
Muscles that feel more relaxed.
📍This treatment may not be suitable if:
You require more pressure and may want to try a deep tissue instead.
OR
You are pregnant - a pregnancy massage would be more suitable.
Sports Massage
If you take part in a lot of strenuous physical activity, this treatment will help you break down the tension in your muscles and help to re-oxygenate them by increasing blood flow to the tissues. This technique is perfect for stretching the muscles and facilitates post workout recovery. It’s not just for sports people though! Everyone can benefit from a Sports Massage!
⚡️ Pressure = Moderate-Controlled.
⭐️ Benefits:
Encourages blood flow circulation which increases oxygen in the muscles to facilitate recovery.
Helps to prevent injury by stretching the muscles and realigns muscle fibres to optimise their function and improve range of movement.
Great for easing post-exercise aches and preventing injury.
📍 Expect:
Trigger point techniques, soft tissue release and strong pressure which help to manipulate your muscles.
This treatment may not be suitable if:
You’re looking for something with a lighter touch and may want to try a relaxing massage.
OR
You are pregnant or there is a chance you might be.
