First and foremost, I love to shoot people, either at work or play. This can include headshots, portraiture, explainers, live-streaming or behind-the-scenes. I also photograph and film live events such as corporate events, graduations, festivals, gigs and performances.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Having a good idea of what the client is looking for in advance - I often ask clients to provide links, Pinterest boards or JPGs of pictures or styles they like.
When shooting events specifically, I think the secret is to be as discreet as possible to capture moments and interactions as they occur - so that the shoot feels natural and observed, rather than contrived.
When doing corporate shoots, I spend a few minutes getting to know the subject, putting them at ease, and acknowledging that being photographed is not in their normal 9-5. A genuine smile or laugh conveys so much in a portrait and is worth every minute spent encouraging it!
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What style of video or imagery do you like?
Who are the VIPs that must be captured during the event?
Are there any surprises or magical moments where I have to be in a certain place?
How quickly do you need the material turned around?
What do you love most about your job?
When people who weren't at an event look at the images and say 'I feel like I was there'.
When a subject feels that I've caught something about them that nobody else sees.
When a client feeds back that I have exceeded their expectations.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've been taking photos all my life and commissioning photographers for editorial and advertising projects for over 20 years. I'd always said to myself 'I could do this' or 'I'd love to be doing this shoot' - so now I am!
