Mishka Grooming

Sylby is the rudest, most unprofessional, and aggressive person I have ever met. Our mini dachshund has been coming to Miskha for 2 years. Today I took him in for his monthly nail cut, and Sylby approached him to his face. He is anxious and so jerked up from my arms, which they are very used to as he is there every month. She then shouted at me, "he tried to bite me i refuse to see him" to which I calmly explained, he comes once a month, and the groomer is excellent at dealing with him, which is why he only comes here. She then went on, shaking and screaming at me - "I've never seen him before, you don't come here, you only come for nails, it is not my business, I don't care" - this lady herself, is who he sees each month, along with another groomer who is no longer there. Sadly the situation did not improve, and Sylby who describes herself as the manager, continued to scream and shout. Of course by this point I had no interest in her seeing my dog, but felt an apology was due as I have never, in my life, come across an experience as unprofessional as this. The lovely groomer in the back room, came out to try to calm Sylby down but to no luck. She says she is new. Sylby then said she will be calling the police, as I have refused to leave. She called 999 while myself and the groomer were there, and told the emergency line that she was being threatened. (aside from wasting valuable emergency service time, clearly untrue). Myself and my dog left to go outside, before which I asked her name, she refused and said she doesn't need to tell me. After 10minutes of being screamed at, from the groomers that has been our groomers for 2 years, and who we have recommended countless friends and neighbours to - I decided to take a photo so that I could inform those friends, and neighbours that this is the lady who was so abusive so they can avoid her. She followed me outside and continued to shout in the street, videod me and my dog, until passers by tried to calm her down. A very helpful lady passing by tried her best but the screaming continued. Meanwhile, the groomer from the inside came out and called this ladys name. AVOID Miskha at ALL costs, I will need to contact the owner of the business Afshin Tamadon and inform him because it is very sad to see the state of this business, that was so well run and kind has lost key staff, and left with someone unfit to deal with any customers. I have never negatively reviewed a business, but this experience must be shared so that others do not visit Mishka, even if you are a loyal and long standing customer, you must find elsewhere. We then went to Grand Union Pets in Maida Vale, who could not have been kinder, got to know him, gave him some treats and care, and had his nails trimmed with ease and no problems. Absolutely horrendous experience. Big Akita dog called Atilla attacked my poor cockapoo. Staff could not control the dog. Emailed the owners and no response. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE

Terrible experience - complete lack of welfare standards caused stress and injury to my dog. Not even worth 1 star.

My papillon is very elderly (sensitive, arthritis, deaf, blind etc), which I warned the groomers of on booking and dropping him off. It's been 3 days now since his groom and he is still yelping in pain, cannot sit down or walk properly, is standing and staring at nothing (a sign of stress and pain) and will not be touched. The vets have told me that he is likely bruised and hyper-stressed from being handled roughly and subject to a stressful groom for 2 hours and 45 minutes. The groomer said when I collected him 'I was scared he might die as he was so stressed out' - so why did they continue to subject my dog to the groom for so long if they knew he was stressed? It should have been stopped immediately. More...
