We had a delightful meal last night. The owners were very accommodating, friendly and funny. Their vegan menu is extensive and delicious. The chef even came out with a sample plate of their new vegan bean burger homemade (which was absolutely delicious) and vegan sausages (yum) to get customer response. Very very good. My wife and I came here for our third wedding anniversary and Alfredo was extremely welcoming upon arrival and was very informative about the dishes available, the ingredients, and Colchester as a whole. It's a lovely restaurant that isn't so big that you'll be forgotten about or so small that you'll be hitting elbows with the neighbouring tables, it's the Goldilocks size. We had the mixed seafood platter and arancini balls to start, both were great. The fish tasted very fresh, my wife, being Greek was very impressed by this freshness of fish. For mains we had calves liver and seafood risotto. The calves liver was perfectly cooked and melted in the mouth, whilst the seafood platter again amazed us with its freshness. For the third, and final, course we had tiramisu and rum baba. I can honestly say that the tiramisu is the best tiramisu I've ever tasted, and was quite jealous that my wife had ordered it instead of me. Then I tasted my rum baba and I wasn't jealous anymore. Delicious!The meal was washed down with a bottle of montepulciano d'abruzzo and when the bill came we were pleasantly surprised. £84 for 3 amazing courses and a bottle of wine, would've happily paid double.Will definitely be going back again soon! Large portion sizes, from a menu offering a wide range of options. Service is friendly and personal.Not all dishes can be modified, so I suggest calling in advance if you have any changes in mind. The main courses were tasty though not exceptional. The dessert though was delicious, a white chocolate cheesecake which was soft and sweet, without being too artificial as many similar desserts can be.Odd that the card readers do not have an option for leaving tips, so take a little cash if you are so inclined. As an Italian living in Colchester you can trust me on this one, this restaurant is really good. They have high quality fresh ingredients and craft authentic Italian meals that rival my grandmother's. Their pasta dough is nothing like any other you can find in Colchester. Definitely treat yourself to a cheesecake or Tiramisù - we really enjoyed these in particular. Great selection of wines too. The prices aren't higher than any Italian restaurant in Italy. Just enjoyed a great meal here, the seafood risotto was excellent and so was the tiramisu. A cosy restaurant and Alfredo and Giuseppe are very friendly and attentive.

The staff are incredibly nice people, the food is classically Italian. I hope people choose this place over the neighbouring Prezzo because it knocks that far out of the park.
