Amazing visit today from unicorn Smurf for my daughters 6th Birthday party. Smurf came to our care home today and he was received by our residents with so much love. He was so calm and seemed to lap up the attention and just know what each resident needed. As someone who had worked with dementia n challenging behaviour a while to see such joy and reactions on those we support was simply beautiful and something that can't be explained . Smurf came along to surprise my 5year old and a few of her closest friends for her birthday. They had an amazing time with him, they loved every second. My little girl and her brother watch some of the videos we took over and over. The photos are in her school learning journal to share with her entire class, and she has shown family many times. Thank you so much for today, smurf the unicorn was amazing!
I really didn’t think the kids would get to do so much with him; grooming, putting bows on him, walking him and making certificates!
The little gift bag for the birthday girl was also a lovely surprise and filled with wonderful gifts (we loved the card from smurf signed with his hoof!)
He really made the day extra special and memorable.
Also thank you Lisa, you were so enthusiastic and lovely throughout and really helped bring the kids out of their shell!
Really hope to be seeing you again �
