About Me

I understand that making the decision to speak to someone about our problems can be daunting. My approach to therapy is everyone has the capacity to change if they want to and everyone is as OK as everyone else. I believe in this ethos and it underpins my work with people. You could come and see me for one session and use the experience to help decide if you would like to begin therapy or I would be happy to have an informal chat over the phone or by e-mail to help you make a decision.

I work with individuals, couples and groups and I have a therapy room at my home in Hutton Cranswick. This ensures discretion and confidentiality for you. I believe I can help people with ranging difficulties; you may not be able to express them in words but feel dissatisfaction in one or several areas of your life. I have particular understanding of working with people who have experienced childhood trauma.

I have had personal therapy myself and so know what that experience was like for me. At times I found it difficult but I am so glad I have as I have explored myself within my world and feel far more grounded and content as a result. I think that an understanding of myself is essential when working with others.
