We spent one night at the Mendip Inn, for an evening meal, bed & breakfast. Both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent (great coffee with the breakfast). The room was lovely and clean, they even had built in USB sockets in the mains socket. We stayed in the Puddle Duck room which had a roll top bath in the bedroom as well as a shower in the en suite room. There was a slight bit of noise in the morning from the A road outside but not really a problem and didn't really disturb us. The staff were very welcoming or accommodating. Great location for the surrounding area , with Cheddar Gorge and Wells just 20 mins drive away. The rooms have very recently been converted so are very clean with modern bathrooms & are very comfortable.||The inn is set next to an A road so there was some road noise - especially as we had the windows open due to the hot weather. ||Characterful restaurant where an excellent breakfast was served . We booked to stay overnight at the Mendip Inn and we will definitely be going back. The place is modern in its decor, clean, friendly and the staff were very accommodating. We had 3 rooms as were staying overnight with other family members and all 3 rooms were of a very high standard. We pre-cooked our breakfast for the following morning and none of us were disappointed. Presentation was fantastic. The eggs were cooked to perfection; scrambled, poached and fried and the Sausages were packed full of flavour. ||Staff were very hospitable and couldn't do enough. ||A lovely Inn which is very worthy of the 4* AA rating. The place is wonderful. Easy to find, with good parking. Everyone and everything was great!!! We had a large family occasion here and the Inn coped admirably. The food was plentiful and tasty. We stayed at the Mendip Inn for only one night as we were on our way back to Heathrow and wanted to break the journey. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful and the restaurant and pub to be perfectly agreeable. The room was comfortable and provided a good nights sleep. The only thing that I would like to see different is for the lighting in the pub/restaurant to be more subdued as for me at least it would create a better ambience, the stark whiteness of the light was a bit sterile for me and did not do the room justice. Me and my girlfriend visited Longleat Safari Park and i couldn't have been more happy with the Mendip Inn as somewhere to stay (about 25mins) When we arrived the staff were very friendly and were shown up to the "Puddle Duck" room which was lovely and clean (smart TV with Netflix was a nice touch) Dinner was very tasty and very reasonably priced considering the quality and a fantastic range of gluten free options (much to my girlfriend's delight)Would highly recommend

My husband myself and our dog spent one night at The Mendip 30th August. |From the greeting to leaving the whole team here are Great Our room Puddle Duck was so nice with the added addition of the in bedroom location bath ( which I took advantage of and loved it ) The Room was spotless. |Bar service & Waiting on both evening and breakfast are a great asset to the Mendip Inn I’m sure & lovely to meet you |The Mendip Inn really is Doggy friendly with a welcoming large bar and seating area in which to relax and eat.|Good location for easy drive to town & Mendip hills. Great welcome and service. High quality food and very dog friendly. The only minor niggle was when it came to pay, I paid by cash and paid in notes and I was asked whether I wanted the change, ie an assumption of a £7 tip for an absolutely delicious £25 meal

Beautiful traditional pub but with a subtle modern twist. Rooms were modern and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and also helpful.
