Had a 3 nights stay at Stable 3 and it was fantastic … the rooms were immaculate and warm , they were spacious and extremely comfortable , the log fire was tremendous too … we ate dinner twice and the Food was delicious as was the breakfast (possibly one of the best breakfasts I’ve had yet and the Scrambled Eggs were amazing) … they say that the biggest asset a business can have is their staff … and jings that statement certainly applies here , they were all so incredibly helpful courteous and so generous with their time … so many thanks … we will be back !!!

Lovely surprise for us, dropped in here for Lunch today. Great food , really nice service from the very attentive staff. Main courses were Hake with Mussels and a steak and ale pie, both made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients cooked to perfection. For puds we had Eclairs and Orange crème caramel. After booking our wedding night at the hotel and being so excited to stay there we were let down immensely. We did not get the welcome we had prearranged with reception staff on booking. We were given the wrong breakfast times on arrival which meant did not get breakfast the morning after our wedding. We were told breakfast finished at 10am by the night staff that let us in but when my husband went down at 9:35am to get a table and he was told that breakfast finished at 9:30 and there was nothing they could do to feed us!! Not once were we made to feel special on a very special occasion for us. What sadly makes the whole situation worse is that I made 2 calls to the hotel asking to talk with the manager and I am still waiting….I have forwarded 2 polite emails to express our disappointment at what should have been a memorable stay and we have heard nothing from the management team. The stable cottages are wonderful with beautiful decor throughout and extremely dog friendly you have everything you need for a relaxing cozy stay. The staff are amazing if there is an award for best staff then this hotel should have it, we have already booked to come back with even more family next year. Great food. Always a nice choice of menu items. You can tell that thought and effort goes into each course. Probably the only place I really enjoy dessert as it’s not run of the mill and is always inventive and delicious. Helpful friendly staff too.
