Tree removal/felling
There are many reasons a tree may need to be removed. It may be an obstruction, have become weakened, diseased or be a hazard. Whatever the reason, at Cedars tree care we have the specialist equipment and expertise to do the job safely. We also provide a stump grinding service.
Crown reduction
For trees that have outgrown their location, crown reductions push the size of the tree in while maintaining the natural framework of the tree. Our surveyors will specify a certain amount to be reduced in meters in order to balance the aesthetics and strength of the tree.
Dead wood removal
Dead wood removal is the removal of dead, dying or diseased branches from the canopy. While this process provides no physiological benefit to the tree, it reduces the likelihood of wood falling from the tree causing damage to people or objects walking beneath.
Pollarding
Pollarding is the process of removing a trees leaf bearing branches back to its core structure. Following a pollard a tree will produce new shoots from the pollard head. This growth should be 're-pollarded' every one to three years. Pollarding is most commonly carried out to curtail a trees growths both below and above ground. This technique is widely used on street trees to reduce subsidence from root growth.
Crown thinning
Thinning involves strategically removing branches from the canopy in order to reduce the density of the crown. Selectively removing branches ensures the shape and the structure of the tree are left intact, while more light and wind can pass through.
Stump grinding
We have specialized equipment in order to grind out the stump once the tree has been removed. This leaves the area free for replanting, incorporating back into a border, lawn or raised bed.
Pruning
Most garden pruning is carried out on shrubs that require maintenance to check their growth or improve their form. Fruiting trees are also pruned in order to ensure a continued supply of fruit each season.
Hedge management
We have specialist hedge trimmers and ladders in order to be able to trim all types and shapes of hedges. All trimmings are collected and disposed of off site.
