We left it up to Matthew to do what he wanted but he is happy to do what you like. He came out to see the venue and have a chat about what we wanted. Brilliant value for money would use again and recommend. More...

Matt was our photographer for our wedding, it was a great choice. Matt spent time with us before the wedding asking us what we wanted, he gave us great professional advice. During the wedding day Matt was unobtrusive, friendly and totally professional. Matt captured perfectly the images we asked for and a great deal more really gettIng the lovely atmosphere and mood of the service and later at the reception. After the wedding we met again, he showed us the images and we picked the actual album we wanted. Matt really did a great job, I would not hesitate to recommend Adept Photography to anyone. You will get quality photographs, totally professional service. Matt is very caring and passionate about his work, he is great company and a pleasure to work with. Thank you Matthew O'Tool you're a star. We hope Adept grows and grows, you deserve to flourish. Mark & Jacqui Sandman. More...

My name is Matthew O’Toole, I am a North West photographer based in Liverpool. I am the owner and proprietor of Adept Photography.

I have a long history with photography, as I began taking images from an early age – at first with borrowed cameras and then with my own. At the age of eighteen, I traveled around Europe equipped with my Pentax SLR film camera and a zoom lens, which gave me a thirst to improve my skills and to develop a style as a photographer. From that moment I knew I wanted to be a photographer.

In 2007, I switched to Digital, a move from which I have never looked back. At that time I also decided I wanted to realise my dream of becoming a professional. So, from 2009-2010, I studied a BTEC and an HND in photography at college. I also quit my job and bought a plane ticket to Nepal, which was the beginning of my travels.

Since then I have traveled extensively with my camera. I enjoy taking images from around the globe – capturing diversity of culture and spirituality. The focus of my work tends to be on sites of cultural, spiritual and religious significance; taking images of the people, and the architecture at these specific locations, hopefully capturing the atmosphere they generate. It is a personal journey of self discovery and adventure, something like a pilgrimage. The idea is that through travelling to these destinations and recording my experiences, I will be not only keeping a record of my development as a photographer but also as an individual – reflecting my personal insights through my work.

I use Canon cameras as a rule and I have spent my time building up sufficient experience, equipment and expertise to fulfill my dream of becoming a professional photographer. Adept Photography has been under development for several years but is now a registered company and is open for business.
