Matt Wing Photo

Matt supported us throughout the wedding planning process, he has been attentive, responsive and a great passenger with us amongst our journey into and beyond our wedding day. We discovered Matt on an open day at our wedding venue. In fact, we had discovered Matt and decided that he would be our wedding photographer before we even booked the venue! Matt was so incredibly knowledgeable about the venue we chose to book (Braxted Park Estate) and several other venues and he gave us some great tips to help us make a decision about which venue to book (showing us his portfolio and cracking a good joke or two). Throughout wedding planning, Matt stayed in touch with us, providing check-in calls and a telephone meeting to clarify a few questions we had. He was able to give us a fantastic recommendation for a wedding videographer (Ray McShane and Sarah McShane) when we left it too late to book our first choice of videographer. But boy oh boy did he strike the right cord with this recommendation, we couldn't be more pleased with the work thus far. Ultimately, he knew so much about our venue so was able to advise us on desirable photo opportunities in the lead up to the big day. Matt arrived on time, with a smile and he was very discreet throughout the whole wedding day. He worked with the debrief document sheet he provided to ensure that he had a thorough outline of the entire wedding day. Matt worked seamlessly with bridal party members to get the most desirable shots and he worked collaboratively alongside our wedding videographer. Matt was polite, patient and understanding of changes throughout the wedding planning process and we felt entirely comfortable giving Matt permission to direct our movements on the day to ensure that we did not miss out on all important photo moments. This was one of the best decisions we made, and our gallery really does show it! We felt that (alongside the fantastic staff at Braxted Park) Matt held the seams of our wedding together. Finding a photographer for the special occasion was easy as Matt's portfolio stood out amongst the rest. Matt is a true professional from giving direction on venue, time of day (that all important golden hour!) for photos and most importantly capturing the moment. We had Matt as our wedding photographer, and it was it was great to have him there. From the moment we met Matt at our home to showcase his work there was an instant rapport. Matt is a genuinely nice guy and made everything as easy as possible for us. In the build up to the big day Matt couldn't help enough, advising on potentially great shots and even organising a last minute videographer less than a week prior to the day!Matt was very punctual on the day turning up early to take getting ready shots for both myself and my bride. He managed to make both of us feel at ease, making the unusual process of someone photographing you getting ready seem normal. During the day itself it was barely noticeable that Matt was even there, he managed to blend very well into the wedding. After staying relatively late into the evening taking photos, the next day Matt had managed to edit and send us some excellent photos that we could share with our family, friends and on social media. It took Matt less than 8 weeks to turn around all of our photos, fully edited and in every format possible. Matt was reccommended to us by our videographer. Having not had a meeting with a photographer before we were not sure what to expect but as soon as Matt arrived at our home he immediately made us feel at ease. He was easy to deal with leading up to the wedding and always very informative. I always feel a bit awkward having photos taken so was worried about having photos taken all day at the wedding but I needn't have worried as on the day itself Matt (and Dave from Rideout Films) made it fun. Matt gave brilliant direction and we basically had a laugh which is what you want. We needed someone to capture the emotion and love going on through the day instead of staging all the photos and having us pose here and there. Matt Wing definitely met that expectation. All of his pictures were taken in a way that when we look at them now, we can imagine that very moment over and over again. Matt photographed our wedding in February, he was absolutely fantastic, we whole-heartedly recommend him. Communication was great from the start, we met him about 6 weeks before and he showed us lots of examples of his work. His documentary style was great for us as neither of us are fans of posed photos - he captured the emotions of the day perfectly. Matt was absolutely fantastic, right from our first meeting we knew that he was the prefect fit. Made us both feel so comfortable on the day and for someone who isn't keen on having their photo taken (me) it was actually really enjoyable. Booking Matt for as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made! From our first chat on FaceTime we knew Matt was the photographer we wanted to shoot our wedding day! He made us feel so at ease and not being big posers he reassured us that our wedding photography would be really natural, and we were overwhelmed with the shots Matt captured. On the day it didn’t feel like we had a stranger taking our photos, but more like a friend. Although, most of the time Matt was so discreet and managed to capture so many amazing photos that we (and our friends and family) didn’t realise were being taken. My husband and I are so so pleased that we chose Matt to be our wedding photographer. As soon as we met Matt for our initial consultation we knew that we’d get on with him; he is really friendly and is so experienced! He travelled all the way from Essex to our venue, Paschoe House in Devon, to have a look around for good portrait spots for us a month before our wedding. came across Matt by chance at a wedding fayre at the start of planning my wedding and the photos and albums he had on display really caught my eye as being the perfect style for what I was looking for - a really good balance between relaxed, spontaneous pictures and the usual more "staged" shots. After meeting Matt for the first time with my husband to be we both agreed immediately that we wanted him to be our photographer. He is a genuinely nice guy - very laid back while at the same time professional and very easy to chat to and discuss our ideas with. We had a meeting at the venue with him closer to the date and he gave his suggestions for shots and took on board our list of photos we wanted him to get. On the day he fitted in perfectly. So many of our guests commented on what a nice guy he was and was never "in the way" - he even put up with kids pestering him and throwing paper planes in his face, all with a smile! We first met Matt when he was the photographer at a friends wedding and alongside the fact that he is a nice guy and easy to get along with, the great thing that struck me about Matt, is that as a photographer he makes himself invisible. He wasn't the typical photographer, shouting orders and sticking the lens in peoples faces, like you so often see at weddings. He blended into the wedding party and concentrated on taking beautiful photos. I checked out his website and his photos speak for themselves. Beautiful lighting and intimate, natural shots. Just what we were looking for. On our big day, Matt was a calming influence, making us laugh and generally helping to keep the nerves at bay, with all of our guests commenting how friendly and nice he was. When looking for a photographer, we wanted someone who did reportage style photography, gave a set price for the whole day not someone who charges for additional hours, and also didn't extort us afterwards when we wanted to get hold of our photographs. Matt Wing photo was the perfect fit.

He arrived on the day as early as we needed him and stayed as late as we requested with no fuss and liaised with us hourly throughout the day to make sure we were happy with everything.

Not only offering a fantastic overall price for the day but we also got a file with all the photos from the day in, so we can do whatever we want with them and can pass them onto or print as many as we like with no extra charge which is fantastic.

Overall a very friendly and professional person who did a fantastic job and all the guests said he was friendly and approachable when requesting his time.

We were looking for a modern and reasonably priced photographer in Essex and that's exactly what we found in Matt!
We first met Matt in London and felt really comfortable with him and totally confident in his ability to capture our wedding day.

Matts approach on the day was perfect, he was professional, calm and blended in with all our guests. We had so many compliments about how friendly Matt was and most thought he was a close friend of ours.

Matt did everything we asked for and more, including rounding up 250 Greeks together for a group photo!!! He had an idea to take us away from the wedding after the first dance to get some shots at sunset and they are some of our favourite photos from the day.

Shortly after the wedding Matt uploaded all the edited photos to our online gallery and gave us a download code. Within a few weeks we had ALL of our photos in a beautifully presented USB box along with a few extras treats.

We know people who have had bad experiences with wedding photographers but Matt is amazing at what he does and we really really cannot recommend him enough!

Matt, thank you for capturing our day so perfectly and for being part of our wedding, your work will be treasured by us forever!

We were quite daunted by the task of choosing a wedding photographer for our big day and so when we were recommended to Matt it was such a relief and we knew we were in safe hands. We met Matt 18 months before our wedding day and we were really impressed with his portfolio and professionalism. He kept in touch with us beforehand and even came to our wedding venue to talk everything through.

On the day he was on time and we left him to do what he does best. He captured everything we wanted him to and even when I was running late he made sure we had those important shots before the ceremony. Our guests barely noticed Matt was there, and he struck the perfect balance of posed and natural shots. Matt checked with us before he left to make sure we were happy with the coverage which we were really impressed with.

We met Matt when we had been engaged for a few months and just starting to really get into the planning of it all. We had a couple of drinks in a random bar in Bishop's Stortford, and after looking through his portfolio, we knew that Matt would be perfect to take the pictures for our laid back barn wedding. Choosing the date for our wedding was actually influenced by his availability! It was so wonderful on the day to feel comfortable with the person taking pictures of you, which can be a bit of a daunting activity!
