About
Like all qualified hypnotherapists, I have undergone fully accredited training, which required case studies to demonstrate understanding of not only the theory, but of putting it all into practice too.
However, this is only part of my story.
I spent 15+ years in management, honing the skills necessary to become a great therapist.
I didn't know at the time, just how important these skills were going to be, until my long term interest in hypnosis became a life changing career.
Although I am calling it a career, it is more akin to a way of life.
My personal belief in what makes a hypnotherapist a great hypnotherapist, comes down to one single trait, they must be selflessly committed to helping others.
When I made the conscious decision to do the hypnotherapy training, I was newly out of work, something that had never occurred previously, I was also a very new father to a beautiful little boy. So I knew that I needed to earn money and pretty fast to support my family, but I was no longer prepared to work for anyone, or any company.
Why not?
Simple, I was no longer prepared to suppress my ethics, morals and personal goals to have a steady payment each month. (Probably the bravest thing I have ever done!)
I had a vision in my head of what I wanted to achieve, and the first thing was to do the course and case studies at the speed of light, to start earning again to support my family.
Oh how things change!
I completed the inhouse training, and then the time came to do the case studies.
I was thankfully blessed by some pretty amazing people that offered to be a case study, some I still see to this day, and others I would make time to see at a drop of a hat, if they ever required my help.
Anyway, I digress, it was during this interim that something profound occurred.
I was gearing up for the case studies, still with the notion that the need for haste was absolutely paramount, right up until the point a little voice in my mind decided to step forward.
It raised a single question, but one that would have a radical impact on me.
So, What was the question?
Simple, "Why do you want to be a hypnotherapist?"
The answer has shaped everything I have done ever since.
No longer was I trying to become a qualified hypnotherapist at breakneck speed.
The reasons I had convinced myself of at the start, paled in comparison to my answer.
The reason I wanted to be a qualified hypnotherapist had been staring me in the face all the time.
It was so simple.
I want to help others.
I want to help them overcome their fears, I want to help them achieve their goals, to help them to grow and become the person they want and deserve to be.
I have since grown and become more than I could ever imagine.
So, what happened after this revelation?
I slowed down, a lot, no longer was my focus on reaching the point of earning money to support my family.
I realised that to be the hypnotherapist I want to be, the hypnotherapist that my clients deserve, I had to squeeze every bit of experience and knowledge out of every single case study. Not only that, but I understood that constantly developing and enhancing my skills is paramount to reaching my ultimate goal.
In every job I've ever had, I've always found the helping others element and focused on that, it's in my nature.
So what makes me different to other hypnotherapists?
My absolute desire to collaborate with you on your greatest project……….. You.
