Regrettably I did not book Malcolm. I should have. He was absolutely charming and incredibly helpful as I was trying to sort the photographer for my party. He was supportive and followed up with me when he actually could have just left it. Charming and helpful.

We came across Malcolm after he generously donated a photography session and print as a ‘prize’ to someone crowdfunding to set up an eco-shop. Before our session, I was worried that our son wouldn’t allow someone he didn’t know to take his photo. Or that the photos would be too posed. Neither came true because Malcolm spent lots of time getting the arrangements right before we met and on the day was patient and allowed us to do what we liked. He appreciated that our son was a little apprehensive around strangers and made the effort to play and get his trust. My favourite part was playing around in the forest because it resulted in more natural photos. Malcolm was extremely professional, providing brilliant communication after the photo shoot as well as amazing photos, which we are really happy with. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
For great pictures of people, the single most important thing to me is to help my subject to relax and to enjoy themselves, because this is when you look your best! I will help you to pose so that it looks both natural and flattering and you can leave me to capture that perfect moment.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
For professional headshots, I always ask how you want to be seen by your ideal client, because this helps me to get the shot that will best help your business. For family portraits, I like to know about the people who will be in the picture and what their interests are, as well as what you want the pictures for.
What do you love most about your job?
I love proving people wrong. So many people tell me that they are "not photogenic" and no-one has been right yet!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had become obsessed with photography as a hobby and this was the only way I could give it more time!
Why should our clients choose you?
I won't be the cheapest photographer you could find, but that's because I don't offer "one size fits all". Instead, I am interested in really understanding what you want and then doing my absolute best to show you how good that can look. Or, as one recent client said:
