Occupational Therapy - ADL's
We look at your Activities of Daily Living which is particularly relevant for clients who due to their mental health, have stopped doing their normal routines. Whether this is around neglecting your personal care, not eating properly, not getting enough sleep or enough exercise. We undertake holistic assessments and work with your to achieve graded goals, supported with a CBT based approach addressing your mental health needs.
Occupational Therapy - Sensory
Many people do not understand why they find particular environments difficult, and a sensory assessment helps you understand how you interact with both your physical environment but also with people. There are many facets to sensory processing - it's not just about not liking noise.
It can also be about not being aware of your environment eg missing things in conversations, not being alert in the morning when you wake up. This can often also give explanation as to why people can find social situations difficult. It also provides another explanation around why people may have increased anxiety levels, social phobias, avoid social situations etc.
Occupational Therapy - meaningful activities
As an Occupational therapists I can help you if you are living with depression to feel motivated and confident to do the occupations that are important to you. I will work with you to develop a structure and routine that you can manage on a daily basis, taking into account your particular responsibilities and roles.
