Steve from Mad4Mutts came to meet my 3 year old, show cocker Spaniel, Gibson. Gibson has always been wilful but has been getting increasingly worse.
Recall was becoming a real problem. Jumping up and getting over excited was also a problem.
Within an hour and a half Steve had managed to start to change these behaviours with simple commands and high value treats.
Steve was kind and patient with Gibson and explained everything in full. He also made it fun. He has given me an information pack to follow and I can honestly say that in a matter of days Gibsons recall has returned. I would highly recommend Mad4Mutts - 11 stars out of 10!

Sharon was a life saver, I needed a dog sitter at short notice after being let down a week or so before my holiday. Sharon was available and she arranged for me and my dog to visit her at her home to introduce ourselves, the minute Marley entered her home she was made so welcome that she did not want to leave, it was a very positive introduction. Sharon wanted to know everything about her routine, likes and dislikes and she made me fell very confident that Marley would be loved and cared for while I was away. I had an amazing holiday knowing that Marley was being well cared for. I had regular updates and videos whilst I was away which was very reassuring. Sharon was amazing with Marley and even taught her some new obedience instructions. Something I had been working on but never managed to achieve!! Whilst I was away quarantine rules where brought in so I was in a position where I had to isolate at home for 14 days. Sharon stepped up and arranged for Marley to be dropped off at my home and then made time to take Marley in some walks as I was not allowed to walk her. What do you love most about your job?
The key thing is we love dogs. ALL Dogs! and we will love yours as much as our own, so you can always rest assured with the peace of mind that your dog is well treated, well cared for, well exercised and gets maximum enjoyment from the time spent as a Mad Mutt!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Over the last 25 years, we have kept pretty much every type of mad mutt there is. We've had spaced out Spaniels, Loopy Lurchers, Wild Westie's, Crazy Crosses, Pampered Pure breeds, Raucous Rescue dogs & Mad Mongrels and even though some had severe behavioural problems at the start, we have loved each and every one. At one point we had 4 Wolf Dogs at the same time, a Timberwolf, Saarloos Hybrid, Inuit Wolfdog and a Czech Wolf Dog. Crazy? Probably, but so much fun!
The main driver for starting our business was our passion is to equip owners to create their perfect canine companion, and in so doing prevent as many dogs as possible going to Rescue centres. Many dogs end up in Dog Shelters and Rescue Centres through no fault of their own, purely because they were poorly trained, or not trained at all creating behavioural issues that owners couldn’t cope with. Our motivation is to keep as many dogs out of these centres as possible by providing training, advice, and support that creates happy dogs and happy owners

Our personal visits and virtual online sessions are both highly effective and fun. Our aim is to equip you to train your dog with the minimum of time and effort. It's much more rewarding and effective for both owner and dog, and the skills you acquire will be there for you to use at anytime in the future.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We use virtual training wherever possible, but provide PPE and sanitizing materials for both staff and customers.
Dog Training - Obedience, Reactivity, Aggression
We specialise in basic skills, obedience and engagement training, separation anxiety, lead reactivity, and aggression toward dogs/ animals /people. We focus on equipping the owner with the skills & knowledge to affect permanent behavioural change to improve the relationship with your dog

Puppy Classes
The first 12 weeks of a puppies life are a key development stage. They acquire a great deal of knowledge and learn very quickly even at this tender age, so its never too early to start training.
For unvaccinated puppies aged 8 to 12 weeks we offer a series of 4 weekly virtual classes via Zoom to set the foundation for a great start in life for your new puppy. The series of four online workshops cover vital topics that set the foundation for a happy, well behaved pup that's a joy to own. Please contact us for more information.
Puppy Boot Camp
Our Puppy Boot Camps are a series of 6 sessions held at a local venue, designed to cater for fully vaccinated puppies from 12 to 20 weeks. They are a great way for your pup to meet plenty of doggo friends and people too. Both parents and children are welcome so that the whole family can enjoy the experience and learn together.
