Mad About The Dog

I found a little dog in 2007. When nobody came for him, he legally became "my" dog, and I, his human. I named him Cosmo. I wanted him to have dog friends and advertised, offering to walk someone else's dog for a small charge. After a while, another dog joined us, and some time later, another. And that is how I began earning my living as a dog walker. It is the only work I've done which I enjoyed and continued to enjoy. Office work is not for me and my canine colleagues are far superior to the human ones I've worked with.

I have seen many dog walking services spring up since I began and I believe that most of them walk too many dogs without enough consideration for the safety of the dogs and their happiness within the group.

I walk a maximum of four dogs (usually 2 or 3), all the roughly same size, and my attention is focused on where they are at all times and ensuring that they are happy and enjoying themselves and feel confident and comfortable with the other dogs. I always have tasty treats and make sure the dogs are rewarded for listening to me and coming to me when necessary.

Together with 14 years of experience walking dogs, I have completed an accredited course in dog behaviour which required extensive research into how dogs learn, what motivates them and modern theories about dogs (which dispel old fashioned ideas about being a pack leader and dominating your dog). You can therefore be confident that your dog is with someone who understands them and works to build a lasting bond with them.
