About

About me, I have worked for over 20 years in Mental Health Services in various settings. In 2017 I trained in EMDR as some of the barriers to recovery for my clients were past traumatic experiences and beliefs that were stuck. The aim is to assist people in recovering from their trauma or difficulties so that they can go on to continue to have lasting improvement and be free from defective limited beliefs.

Services

Talking therapies are helpful but sometimes when a memory is stuck or frozen, it can trigger the same fight, flight, freeze or fawn response. Which is why some people find no benefit in therapy alone. EMDR is a method that reduces the distress of past events. It is a neurological therapy and can also be beneficial with releasing trauma held in the body.

Emotional Freedom Technique
This is tapping on acupressure points which regulates the body’s energy system whilst working on an issue. It is also a tool which is useful for regulating the stress hormone cortisol. It is a therapeutic tool which I find helpful to teach to clients so that they have a method which they can use independently to regulate their emotions and is an effective resource tool.
