Q&As

After an initial analysis of their current exercise and Nutrition schedule I prescribe reasonable changes in their diet and exercise that as much as possible suit them and their commitment level. This usually involves a session or 2 per week to keep them exercising( and exercising correctly) along with their own activities and a home visit to teach them how to eat their own food to drop body fat and show their muscle tone.

You have to be able to make small changes and stick with it. Each change is a step in the right direction towards your goal and builds up over time. The quick fixes don't work or only work very short term, its what we do every day that counts for the long term. A diet that doesn't feel like a diet and exercise you enjoy or that gives you satisfaction are the keys. A personal trainer can facilitate this and individualise it to fit each client they have.

When someone gets in shape. Seeing the satisfaction on someone's face when they see the scale dropping or hit a new personal best on an exercise after struggling when they started is great. Getting to know people is another bonus of the Job, wherever I have done PT I have had clients who have stayed with me for years, everybody I have now has been with for at least 3 years.

I used to work for a gym overseas and my clients said I should definitely go it alone when I returned to the UK.

Everybody who sticks with it gets the results so I guess if they have a bit of commitment they should pick me. Its not easy but worthwhile things never are.
