Little Petals, Loanhead

Ordered a bouquet of flowers for my Mum whos Dad had just died. Ordered via Direct2Florist for delivery the next day, marking any time delivery was OK. I am keeping an eye on my phone all day today waiting for the message to say thanks for the flowers but it doesn't come. It gets to 4pm and I think I better call her and check that they haven't missed the delivery. Or had a missed call (I gave my mums number for the delivery). There was no sign of the flowers so I try to call Little Petals but they have closed at 4pm. I hope that they are delivering now, now that there shop is closed as I had said any time was ok for delivering. I found their Facebook page and messaged them on thier to check that delivery was still going to be made today. They reply 9.45pm saying that they had funeral flowers today and they had to take priority and the weather was bad and they could deliver tomorrow. Not acceptable. If they couldn't fulfill the order for whatever reason, cancel it and I can order elsewhere. But they just ignored my order and i had to chase it. My reply to the Facebook message was that to make things better I would like a complimentary bunch delivered next week. This was bluntly refused. No compensation offered. No sorry for your loss after explaining the reason for the flowers. Not even a box of chocolates or a bouquet upgrade. Just I can deliver tomorrow or I can issue a refund. Well the refund was the only option as I would not want them keeping my hard earned money. Wanted to support a local florist, especially in these difficult times but think I'll be going to a national chain in future who are more accountable. More...
