What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Capturing great photographs is more than just holding a camera, there's an element of seeing the future, understanding people and paying attention to the finer details. It's there, in that detail, where perfect moments are born and vanish in the blink of an eye.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
When starting a new project, it's all about the client and what they expect from their photographer. I like to begin by gathering some high level details to make sure we're working on the same page.
Then we elaborate on those details, I'll provide some examples and even opening things like a Pintrest board to collectively gather ideas.
This allows me to really pin down what the client likes and expects as well as get to know them, making sure they get the most for their money and are truly happy with the service they've received.
What do you love most about your job?
I have always been a creative person, studying a range of creative subjects but photography has really allowed me to let that creative side out, push the boundaries and not just capture photo's but see moments for how incredible they truly are!
What inspired you to start your own business?
It was never an open not too... growing up I had all sorts of crazy ideas for what I wanted to be and the types of things I wanted to do, from a fireman, to an inventor and all the way up to landing on the moon but one thing was certain, whatever I did, I'd create my own path and never be average!
Why should our clients choose you?
There's never an easy way to answer this, there are amazing photographers out there who's work I absolutely adore.
I'd choose me because I'd never give a client any less than my all. I'm a people person, somebody who always makes the effort and has dug deep to hone my skill with camera, to not only click the button but capture that single moment and really believe in what I do.
Party Photography - Adult and Children
When it comes to party photography, I enjoy a birthday bash or celebration as much as the next so being comfortable in this environment has really helped develop my skill in these types of events.
As for dealing with children (I'm sure you'll agree the more difficult of the two), I have a large family/network and there's always a child's birthday or party for which I am on hand to capture these amazing, sometimes snot covered moments!
Corporate Photography
Corporate photography is very meticulous, clients want to be able to display what makes their business great and stand out from everybody else, therefore it's high pressure!
Photographs need to be available in a variety of different formats and in line with things like company branding, which is super important.
Combining my designer background with my later skill as a project manager, I have this nailed. Regardless of the client, event or photography type... I will deliver.
Award Ceremony
I do love a good award ceremony!
Everyone is dressed up and in the mood for an incredible evening of celebrating achievement and the amazing things people do.
There's always a variety of things going on at this type of event and being in the right place at the right time to capture each element is key!
Wedding Photography
Wedding photography is something I am so passionate about and after years of working in a multitude of different events, I have made the decision to take on weddings as part of 2020.
I currently have a few clients lined up and I'm super excited to be an integral part of the couples big day, it really is an honor!
Expo Photography
Similar to corporate photography, capturing images at an expo is just as high pressure. A business or group of business have invested a great deal of time and money to deliver an expo and it demands results. Working an expo is all about timing and spotting opportunities, clocking where you need to be to get reaction shots, all the way through to people eating and using company branded goodies. You want everything!
