I met Fern through a mutual client that came to me for dog training & behaviour modification some months ago, & have worked with her on a professional basis many times since. Being a dog trainer, I cross paths with many dog walkers albeit on walks or because we share clients. I can honestly say Fern offers one of the most bespoke & personalised services for dogs in our area. Fern has walked some of my clients & has been absolutely fantastic at keeping consistency for them & ensuring she has all the information she needs to help these dogs be successful in whatever training they’re undergoing. Her own personal progress & professional experience is of obvious importance to her & that’s been consistently clear every time I’ve worked with her. Always so eager to learn more for the benefit of the dogs in her care. We were in desperate need of a dog walker while we were away on holiday as it was a little last minute. Luckily we came across Lead the way and immediately just from looking at Fern’s page and website I knew she really cared about dogs. We set up a meet and greet and instantly Bear was besotted. Bambi who can be a little shy was a bit more hesitant so Fern asked to meet once more before our holiday so she could get used to her and a few belly rubs and treats later Bambi was besotted too! Every day Fern would send me photos and keep me updated, whether it was a walk in the woods or a drop in at home. This helped while we were so far away knowing our babies were being so well looked after. I made fern aware of our dogs special diet so she made sure to buy them suitable treats and gave them a new ball every walk which I’m sure Bear particularly was ecstatic about. We had used a couple of dog walkers in the past before Fern however Fern is by far the best dog walker that we have had. We have one nervous dog who has really bonded with Fern, She treats our two Frenchie’s like her own, they are constantly being spoilt and they are beyond excited everytime she comes to pick them out. Puppies are like young children... They don't have the capacity to fake their excitement and happiness or lie about things. And I know 1000 percent that Eevee, our husky Mali cross pup absolutely loves Fern and has an epic time with her. I know this by the sheer excitement she shows when she sees her, even if we see her in a different area. I also believe dogs do smile and there's no doubt Eevee smiles when she's with Fern. I also know how much fun she's had by her tiredness when she comes back which I'm grateful for so I can get on with other things eg work and chores. Eevee started with Fern when she was five months old and she's now nearly nine months x Fern from the start has been friendly, caring, compassionate and shown nothing but professionalism and love for our doggy x competitive pricing, keeps in touch and you get to see what your dog is up to with photos and videos which is awesome. Cannot recommend Fern enough! She took the time to get to know my 4 month pup before taking her out. She showed her so much love and affection which really eased my nerves! Effie had never been out with anyone (other than family) before but fern was amazing. She did not let Effie off the lead and said she won’t until I say she can- which made me much less anxious. Effie’s recall is great with me but I worry she won’t be as good with a dog Walker, So Fern put her on a long line instead! She came back so tired ! Cannot wait for her to go out with Fern again! Fern was absolutely amazing with my fur baby. There was an instant connection. She took to her really well, even to the point when it was time for Winnie to be dropped off she wanted to leave again with fern 🙈 Loves seeing her for her walks, and loves he free treat she gets at the end. Fern is very flexible when working around times I need her and is such a happy smiley person all the time. Absolutley incredible service. Really goes the extra mile to ensure clients and doggies are happy. Have tried and tested many dog walkers for our fussy older Jack Russel, and had no luck to the point we thought it was the end of the line, I found Fern, and she has managed to get her out and about with ease and comfort. Wow! So I got myself a lockdown pug puppy, and felt like he was missing out on socialisation with other dogs. I really need my little one to be used to and friendly to other dogs, as he’s going to be around them a lot in the future. What better way than for fern to take him, with large and small dogs for him to mingle with! He was super confident to go with her, and she really listened to his needs that I told her about. Fern very kindly offered to take my two large dogs for a trail walk. I was a little apprehensive as they pull and are quite hard work. But Fern was brilliant with them. They absolutely adored her straight away and were happy to go with her. They came back shattered and are still fast asleep now. Fern even bought them both a goody bag with healthy raw treats! More...
