There is a good choice of sandwiches and ours had plenty of tasty fillings with lovely fresh bread, the cakes were delicious (we let the chef choose ours) but what were outstanding were the scones which were light with just the right amount of moisture. I was looking for a Vegan cake for my son's 2nd birthday who is allergic to eggs and dairy.I have contacted Le Chalet who responsded to all our requirements very quickly. We never had such a delicisous vegan cake. Our little boy could eat his birthday cake and loved it! All our guests were very impressed by the look and the taste it. The very rustic feel of the place really will take you to France, interior and general esthetics of the restaurant feel authentic. Really cute little french cafe. I took my girlfriend here for brunch and the service was excellent, the staff were very attentive. The food and drink selection was immense and they had 2 pages just for pots of tea, the one I chose was a blooming green tea called fall of fragrance and it was served in a beautiful glass teapot to display it blooming. I held a medium sized afternoon tea as a surprise for a baby shower. The group included GF, pregnancy and other dietary requirements. From the beginning of me booking the table in advance to after the event the contact I have had with all staff has been friendly, professional and very helpful. The food was delicious. The afternoon tea portions were large (we didn't finish), the scones were huge and warm and fresh. We liked the choices of jams. The ability to pick your own sandwich was a wonderful touch.
