Lapworth Architects

I have a 1920s semi detached house in the east of Birmingham. We are extending at the rear to 6m from original footprint and removing a couple of walls downstairs to create an open living space on the ground floor. I got in contact with Lapworth Architects and was able to get things rolling quite quickly. I told them my requirements and they drew up some good looking plans within a week. The ideas drawn up were ideas that we just didn’t think of and in a way inspired to explore other layout options. After some refinement and mind changing on our side, we ended up with layout plans that we were extremely happy with. We’ve since used the plans to obtain quotes from various builders and will be beginning construction next week! Hopefully be finished by June this year.Lapworth were helpful throughout the process from initial plan to full building regs application, and even though we opted to project manage it ourselves, they offered advice and help finding a builder which turned out to be the most challenging part of the process (so far).I will post before and after images once complete, but until then if you’re thinking of having extensive work carried out on your home, then I would definitely recommend getting it designed first, and Lapworth Architects certainly helped us do that. Lapworth Architects dealt with a change of use for a business premises for me. This process was very smooth and they visited the premises prior to purchase to allow them to deal with the drawings and apply for planning in a timely manner. During the whole process they were very helpful and knowledgeable. I am engaging with them again on my home for a renovation project with extensions after being disappointed by a previous architect. Our initial contact was with Mike at the Grand Design exhibition at the NEC where we discussed the feasibility of drawing plans for a large extension to a bungalow. He visited us on site following the initial contact and we were very impressed with Mike's expertise and suggestions for our extension.James then took over and after visiting the site drew up the plans and after one or two minor amendments submitted them for planning permission which was successfully accepted by the local authority. Then about a year later we contacted Mike and James again to submit the plans again for building regulations and once again they were very professional with there approach. The submission was successful and we are now in the process of obtaining quotes for the building work.I would strongly recommend Lapworth Architects they made the whole process relatively painless for novices like us. I met Manraj of Lapworth Architects at the Grand Designs Live show in early October. From my initial contact I was very impressed and confident that Lapworth Architects were the people I wanted to be involved in the renovation and redesign of my home. The works included an extension, loft conversion and remodelling of both ground and first floors. The turnaround time on the work Lapworth Architects have done has been exceptional everything has been done quickly and efficiently. We went from a few ideas to submitting plans to the council within 3 weeks of meeting Manraj.Nothing is too much trouble for the team who are always on hand to provide their expertise and advice. We had a very good experience with Lapworths. This being the first time we had done anything so major in our home we very much appreciated the attention and support from the Lapworth team. We had several meetings in their offices and on site as we worked through a final plan for renovating our dup[lex apartment. They were very responsive to our ideas but also introduced some more technical ideas of their own to give us what we believe to be the best use of our space. Our architect Manraj took the greatest pride and care in our project. He nurtured it as if it was his own , and demonstrated such professionalism and confidence that cannot be found elsewhere. We had a strict deadline with very good reason and Manraj went through great lengths, to ensure we were granted planning permission.

All the tangible assets of a successful company were shown, great communication, organisation, planning and trust. We received our planning permission with great surprise as what almost seemed like an impossible task pf getting the planning permission early was turned into an I am possible.

Once our planning permission was granted, Manraj carefully went through the next stage with us and gave us a lot of advice which was very beneficial. As mentioned previously, he nurtured it as if it were his own which meant his work was really coming from the heart. Would strongly recommend this great architecture company. I instructed Mr Manraj Singh to take on my case, after having a rejected planning application in the previous year. I received phenomenal service from Mr Singh. He was very professional, efficient, knowledgeable and had excellent communication skills with the Councillors, planning team and myself. I was always kept in the loop with any discussions with the planning officers and Mr Singh was only ever a phone call/ email away should i need to discuss anything. Thank you Lapworth Architects Ltd for providing me with an excellent service.
We had plans to build an extension which had been declined by the council. After contacting Lapworth Architects Ltd, Manraj and Tristan stepped in and accommodated the change requested by the council.
They responded very quickly to our queries and came up with an alternative drawing and guided us through our planning process.
Not only were the drawings re-done within a day, they were much better. Manraj managed to sort out a structural engineer within a day of the drawings being approved by the council.
Extremely professional and efficient team. I just wanted to share this experience with anyone who is looking for an exceptional company, I would sincerely recommend Lapworth Architects Ltd.

I have used Lapworth Architects to draw plans for an extension on my property, I was really pleased with the service and support they provided. Staff were very professional, efficient and really helpful in giving ideas on how to make the most of the living space.
No time was wasted in chasing up plans or waiting for phone calls, there was always someone to talk to regarding the plans. There was never any problem when i asked for a few changes to be made, which they happily did and e-mailed them back to me to check I was happy with them.

My husband used Lapworth Architects earlier this year after entering into a lease agreement for a commercial site which did not have the correct planning consent. Lapworth Architects were very efficient and new the whole process of obtaining consent. They negotiated with the council and responded to all complaints from local residents.
