Me and my partner and disabled daughter went there today on spec. We were greeted warmly and given the best of attention throughout. A great team of front of house people and the food itself was superb! We would highly recommend it to anyone. Hands down the tastiest Sunday dinner we have ever had., even beats my Mams (I will deny this should she ask ) Mashed potatoes to die for, quality and beautifully cooked meats. Huge Yorkshire puddings lashings of gravy !! Followed by devine desserts ! Very friendly service leading to a very enjoyable experience and one we intend to repeat soon even if it is a 400 mile round trip .. More...

Waiting time on food and drinks disappointing tonight!! Had to ask the waitress to take our food order which she then asked the table next to us if we were before them (found this really rude) waited about 45 mins for food and the table that ordered after us got theirs first (the table the waitress asked if they were before us! My mother and I had planned to eat at Crinnions today but couldn't get a table as the restaurant was full. Another lady in the same predicament suggested we tried the King's Head. We had never been before so we were happy to try somewhere new as we aren't familiar with the area. The gentleman who showed us to our table was warm, welcoming and polite from the offset. I ordered the salmon and mussels served on a bed of creamy mash with a delicious cream sauce. It was all cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. My mother was served the largest fish and chips I have ever encountered. What a whopper of a dish. I admittedly demolished her left over home cooked chips as they looked and tasted amazing. Again cooked to a high standard and extremely good quality food and value for money. Being a fuss pot myself, I can safely say I am excited to have found a new go to place. We shall definitely be returning soon to sample more culinary delights. Top nosh in a nice atmosphere at great prices. More...

Been today for food, was not disappointed AT ALL!! 3 main meals all chose different, fish and chips should be called whale an chips! !! Delicious! Lovely welcome from Trevor. All staff was really nice everyone had a chat through out our stay. Rooms nicely furnished, TV, kettle and tea & coffee making facilities, hair dryer, iron /ironing board,. Bathroom nice, electric shower lovely hot water, got shampoo and body wash despencers fresh towels. Bed cosy, Omg slept better here than at home. I always take ear plugs so the busy road didn't effect my sleep Ate our evening meal here, service was excellent nothing to much trouble and the food delicious right from starter to the main and yes sticky toffee pudding for desert.!!! The food for other diners looked amazing and by the near on clean plates must have tasted good too, big big servings, what is there to moan about. Definitely will be stopping here again More...

I would definitely recommend The Kings Head in Lanchester. We arrived quite early on a Sunday but was surprised how quickly it started to fill up. We had roast pork and roast beef and both were delicious with plenty of veg and extra gravy.
